An excellent mid-level camera for the enthusiast photographer, Nikon’s D5100 DSLR features a number of upgrades over its predecessor, the D5000. For one, it’s equipped with a 16.2MP CMOS sensor. It’s also capable of taking 1080p video. And thanks to its fully articulated, side-mounted LCD panel with 921,000 dots, this next-generation camera is more compact and easier to handle. It’s even got a bit of the higher-end D7000 in it, offering ISO sensitivity between 100 and 6,400, as well as 14-bit raw shooting.

18-55mm Lens

This kit comes complete with an 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR lens. Vibration reduction with three stops of compensation prevents camera shake and keeps photos sharp. Accurate color representation is improved with a Super Integrated Coating on the lens, which also works to reduce flare and ghosting.
