Great camera, I'm going to pick up the body only when I will be in Hong Kong 2 weeks later. US$1400 or less is basically the market price from authorized dealers in Asia. It's just Nikon USA so greedy in charging hundreds more.
And beware of grey market Nikon, I was told you would need to ship it back to the original country's repair center to get it repaired.
I seriously don't see this drop is a deal. You can get the same grey market body at US$1500 from some good ebay sellers. And if you're using this semi-pro/pro body, most likely you already have better lens than the kit lens, which you can get it altogether cheaper fron ebay also.

mcdullWell, even if you buy it in Hong Kong from an authorized dealer and bring it to US, it will still be considered grey market, Nikon USA will not repair it, and you will still have to ship it to Hong Kong if something goes wrong.
