Portable Design, Nonstop Performance

Nikon’s new flagship Speedlight, the SB-5000 is great for studio, wedding, event, and action photographers, and anyone who relies on portable lighting to get the job done. Along with both traditional optical wireless control and powerful new radio control, it features the world’s first hot-shoe mount flash cooling system—allowing for more than 100 consecutive firings at full output without overheating. The small, lightweight design provides streamlined access to frequently used functions like flash mode, zoom head position, and flash compensation value. Finally, the SB-5000 integrates seamlessly with the company’s optical wireless Speedlights and DSLRs.

Maximum Control & Compatibility

Thanks to Nikon’s Advanced Wireless Lighting radio control, the SB-5000 doesn’t require line of sight to work. Pair it with a compatible DSLR, WR-A10 wireless remote adapter, and D5 and WR-R10 wireless remote controller (all items sold separately), and you can place up to six groups of remote flashes behind obstacles, around corners, and even in other rooms up to 98 feet away. You can also use this Speedlight as a master flash to control other remote Speedlights, or use it off-camera wirelessly as a remote flash controlled by either your camera’s built-in flash, another Speedlight, or the SU-800 wireless Speedlight commander (sold separately). Finally, the SB-5000 is equipped with unified flash control and can be manned from a personal computer using the optional Camera Control Pro 2 software.
