The world’s first die cast flashlight is now available through Massdrop. The Nitecore EC4 is an intelligently designed portable 2 x 18650 handheld searchlight featuring a die-cast unibody aluminum alloy construction. With almost 200% more strength than average flashlights at a fraction of the size and weight, it’s a flashlight raising the bar for EDC enthusiasts.
Note: This flashlight uses 2 x 18650 or 4 x CR123 batteries. This drop is limited to 40 units.
Design
Die-casting is a process utilized in a great deal of professional fields, from aerospace to industrial machinery. It’s meant to ensure structural integrity and ultimate durability, which is ideal for the design of the EC4. An ergonomic body design is paired with a heat dissipation surface 30% larger than other flashlights. The flashlight itself is incredibly compact and the body is designed to cool down easily while still providing a high lumen output. The grip is comfortable with double-side dimbles to prevent slippage from sweat.
Capabilities
A CREE XM-L2 LED gives off 1000 lumens of light output. With a 26,000CD intensity and a 322M beam range, it’s a choice option for either focused or flood lighting, depending on the need. With 5 brightness levels and 3 concealed special modes (strobe, SOS, and location beam), it’s useful for both emergencies and everyday use.
