I received my flashlights today. I ordered an SRT3 and an SRT7. Both were black and not th grey I ordered. The SRT7 was DOA. I contacted support.
Edit: I realize the lights are both grey. Just a much darker grey than I was expecting. Still having trouble with the SRT7 however.
AmafanAre you using CR123A's or 18650s? If you're using an 18650 you have to have button top batteries (like AA's where there's the little 'nipple' on the positive side) and not flat top 18650's like a lot of them are. I know this is posted in the SRT7 description but is easily looked over. If you don't have button top batteries Massdrop is actually doing a sale on some by Nitecore right now for a damn good price at $17 each. I would totally be all over those if I didn't already own a lot:P
Spencer_BThanks for the reply Spencer_B. I am using Nitecore 3400 mAh 18650. Also tried CR123A's with the same results. Pressing down really hard on the tail cap button gets a brief flicker but as soon as I let off the pressure it stops.
andyI tried. no results, but I wasn't sure what needs to be done. Like I said it will come on if I continue to press the tail cap switch but goes off when I release the pressure.
AmafanStupid question, but are you sure everything is nice and tight? there are two sections that can come undone, here is a pic with the SRT6 in three pieces: https://www.dropbox.com/sc/un0jau3tsu5tq85/xVjCTB493K
I barely unscrewed the bottom section (switch) and I was able to replicate your problem where I had to hold down the switch to turn on the light.
andyYeah. It was the first thing I thought of. Everything is tight and well seated. I did notice the light flickered on when I shook it. Seems like something inside is just not making good contact somewhere.
