Am I wrong to believe there is no warranty for this flishlight, other than the 30 day return policy?According to Massdrop "Some products purchased on Massdrop do include a manufacturer's warranty. These products will have the warranty listed on the drop page. Products that do not come with a manufacturer's warranty will be subject to a 30-day return policy linked here. "

Watchman323Warranty info is on the manufacturer's website: http://flashlight.nitecore.com/SUPPORT/TERMS/

seenypaulI emailed massdrop about this warranty question a few months ago. They said if there is manufacture warranty, then it will be listed on that drop page.

Watchman323If that is in fact the case, that implies Massdrop is not actually to be considered an authorized dealer for many of the items it sells and reduces their value considerably. For example, Kokopelli lists a three year warranty on their website that is not reflected in Massdrop's current offering of the Hornet Lite packraft in the Outdoors and Ultralight communities. That makes the appeal of Massdrop's claimed 26% discount for that item a whole lot lower. Outdoor Research is another. From your statement, the company's usual Infinite guarantee doesn't apply to the 35% discounted hat currently being offered. Disappointing... some items are a much more expensive investment than this flashlight...

seenypaulYes, Klymit is another that won't warranty items sold through Massdrop (another guy bought a sleeping bag that had a failure almost immediately and he is out of luck). I think as long as customers here know they might not be getting a warranty, it's OK. If the price drop is worth the lack of warranty, I think that's fine. Some items here have discounts that can be had at other retailers, in which case it would be prudent to not purchase through Massdrop. I think the OR items I've bought here were roughly 40% off. With that kind of discount for the exact size/color I want, I'm fine waiving warranty. But definitely something people should be aware of :-)

seenypaulRegarding Outdoor Research, that's not true. OR will guarantee any product. It doesn't matter where you got it. You could have found it on the street. I've taken advantage of their guarantee at least four times that I can think of and I never had to even prove I purchased the item. I just filled out the form and they follow up with an email explaining how to proceed. Their stuff is overpriced on their website, but it can all be bought for less at third party retailers and OR truly stands behind their products.

CardamomteaThat's not true about Klymit. I bought two Klymit sleeping pads from MassDrop a while back and they both came with defects. Klymit took care of it with no problems at all.

steineyThat's great news then! There was a guy many weeks ago on here who had issues with a Klymit product bought here, and Klymit was of no help. Maybe he was talking to an inexperienced customer service person who didn't know..?

CardamomteaStrange. Klymit only has one warranty guy, Travis Jeffs, who does all their warranty processing. He’s great. I’ve had to process a warranty three times with Klymit and Travis had taken excellent care of me each time.

steineyhttps://www.massdrop.com/buy/klymit-ksb-20-down-sleeping-bag/talk#discussions
That's where this discussion is found:
Mzungu ZionHikes1 "...Can't return with massdrop and when I called Klymit they wouldn't handle an exchange or warranty coverage because it was bought through Massdrop!"
If you follow the discussion you'll see Klymit eventually responds and honors the warranty, but it took public posting for him to get help apparently. Either that or he was trying to make Klymit look bad? Original complaint (draft tube tore away first night out) was at 44weeks ago, Klymit response was 33 weeks ago, so took almost 3 months for them to respond.
