As soon as the group's order is ready at the vendor's location, they will send the bulk shipment to our warehouse in New Jersey where our warehouse team will break it up into individual orders and ship them. The current estimated ship date from our warehouse is 2/26.

Dear Nixsensor:
Very happy you/we managed to get the right number for the lowest price.
Thank you so much for creating this visionary product.
Quick practical question re shipping; I'm in Toronto. Will shipping be from Canada or the U.S.? Thank you for your time.
Rafael
lol-lol
Hi lol-lol, Thanks for your support! I'm working with the Massdrop team right now to figure out these logistics. Hopefully I'll have an answer soon.
nixsensor
Thanks. I appreciate your answer. In case it is possible, I am often in Hamilton on the weekend, so I could pick up if there is a mutually convenient time--Not trying to save shipping cost; understand and am completely happy with that being part of the Massdrop arrangement--just looking for convenience and trying to avoid cross-border shipping, for obvious reasons of expediency and possible added cost. All the best. Rafael
Wow! Unlocked lowest price I cannot feel better.
Woo! We hit the lowest price target! Thanks Massdrop community! 3 hours left to call all your friends and get them in on this amazing deal! ;)
-====!UPDATE!====-
We have decided reduce the minimum unit count needed for the lowest price threshold! This means that we can get to the minimum quantity quicker and we can get you guys/gals the best deal available!
With only a day left to go we are so close to the finish line! Please pass this drop to your friends, colleagues and your e-communities. We can do it!
Although I understand the high color detail that this can output, I would have to advise against this product only because adobe already has an app for capturing color from a photo call adobe color (or capture). I suppose accuracy has a lot to do with your quality of camera, but $250 is still a ton of money for something like this.
mzilber
Hi Mzilber, thanks for the input.
The Nix Pro Color Sensor provides a massive increase to true color accuracy as it actively blocks out all ambient light and provides its own calibrated light source right inside the unit. Camera apps don't even come close... think about the black and blue vs white and gold dress meme, we aren't talking small differences in accuracy, we are talking night and day. This level of accuracy isn't for everyone, but it is incredibly important (and difficult to achieve) for others.
Hello All,
We have added extra time on this drop to ensure that everyone in the community has a chance to get this incredible device. This will not affect shipping times.
Cheers!
We are so close ladies and gentlemen! Please share this drop so we can get the lowest price for the community!
I would generally be very wary of Nix - I backed the kickstarter, which was essentially the same as throwing away $100. The promised android support was basically non-existent and even tethered to a PC it would only work sporadically, and when it did the color readings were completely inconsistent from run to run. I know that this is a new version, but frankly given the product quality I've experienced and the almost complete lack of support (no response to e-mails, "fixing" a non-working product by releasing a different one etc) , I would be extremely hesitant to give this company any money.

Yeah. That's what I mean by lack of support - didn't receive an answer to direct emails to you, let alone unprompted ones. (Did receive several telling me how to become an affiliate though, as well as some suggesting I buy your more expensive working version, so at least you have my email address :)
Oh well - it was a learning experience: you apparently learned how to make a color sensor (although unfortunately it wasn't the one you provided to your backers), and I learnt to never back a Kickstarter which promised Android support but doesn't have an Android phone demo. (There's no way you can claim that the original sensor is anything but an unsupported paperweight for your Android backers).
This new sensor is probably fine, so my remarks are only pertinent to the support and integrity side of your company.
tieke
Hi tieke, We greatly appreciate the feedback and the support of all the Kickstarter backers through this crazy journey. Without you guys, none of this would have been possible. I'd still like to talk to you to see what we can do to help you directly. Can you call our office at 905 581 6363?
Hello Matt, Food technologist here - on your website you readily compare your system to traditional colour analyzers (schimatzu etc). In your experience how does the nix compare?

Hello again, thanks for linking the blog post - I had a lot of pressing questions so decided to get in touch with your support team directly. They are being very helpful helping us figure out exactly what we need to make NIX work for us :)
Shak33l
Hi Shak33l,
No problem, let me know if you need any more help. You can contact me directly at matt@nixsensor.com or give the office a call at 905 581 6363.
Would definitely be in if the price were more in line with kickstarter and indigogo pricing of $$$.

My apologies, it looked like the same product as in the aforementioned campaigns. How long does a calibration "last"? Ie does it have to be recalibrated after x hours of use? If so, is there a need to send it back to you for recalibration, or can it be done by the user. Thanks again!
Dr_Remulak
Hi Dr_Remulak, the calibration will last for years of regular scanning. Our LEDs for example have 100,000+ Hr life... Each scan only takes ~2s... So they will last for quite some time. The biggest source of error would be if the unit was damaged during a drop or extreme shock for example.
Is this live capture on screen or the sensor captures the data and gives you a match on screen? i.e., could I run the sensor over a multicolored wall to and see the colors change on my phone live? Or would I just do multiple presses to determine which color I want to match?

Thanks for the reply!!!

No Problem! let me know if I can help in any way!
Will this work to create my own ICC profiles for printing?
Sort of a general question. Then more specifically for me - Spyder4Pro to calibrate my monitor, Canon Pixma Pro-10 printer, and Lightroom. Using fine art paper that doesn't always have an ICC profile for my specific printer. I'd like to create my own, and understand a colorimeter is the next step.

I understand, and while I hope to see DIY ICC profiles I am in the drop either way.
eunu
Thanks eunu! We really appreciate the support!
I'm curious how this works, also why is it quite expensive? Materials, software etc?
Katnipsss
The Nix Pro's patented shape blocks out all ambient light from your surroundings. It has its own calibrated light source right inside the device for extremely high levels of accuracy. This means that the Nix Pro is not effected by ambient light or shadows at all. You can touch Nix to painted walls, fabric, wallpaper, tile or natural objects to instantly get the exact color in RGB, CMYK, Lab, XYZ, and even physical paints. The Nix comes with our free Android and iOS apps. Let me know if I can explain anything else! :)
It's Matt here, the inventor of the Nix Pro. Let me know if you have any questions! I'd love to help!
