This should go down in price. At 299 is a good price, will sell more and I will surely buy one!

It was $325 with a discount code, so not really. Someday? For sure it will definitely lower in price. When that actually happens, no one knows. The latest and greatest coming from the major manufacturers are just barely rolling out, as higher refresh rates at higher resolutions are just barely hitting the market.
Unfortunately, there really aren't any competing products at this price point with these specs. Monoprice briefly had a similar monitor up around the same price, only to later find that it was a TN panel when customers actually looked into it (and their listing was updated).
jasque
That's an absurd expectation.
Why not sent outside US? Tell us the shipping and let us decide. I will stop being on MD if this continues. You show me eye candy but say don't touch. Ludicrous.

As mentioned I can offer it. It will be around $100 USD cost to ship on top of the selling price.
B.Hutch@AKRacing
Thanks B.Hutch for this. On second, deeper thought I calculated the pixel per square inch density vs my current monitor Vixen 27": (2560 * 1440 px) / (25.5 in x 15.5 in) = 9326 px/in^2 Dell 2412m: (1920 * 1200 px) / (20.3 in x 12.7 in) = 8936 px/in^2 Although it's 144Hz vs my current 60Hz, I will gain no substantial added sharpness. My gpu is gtx1080. I will jump on a deal similar to this with a 4K resolution. Will keep following.
Reasuring to note that MD pays no attention to the crazy notion that violent computer games contribute to an increase in violent behavior (including school shootings).* Capitalists unite--if something makes money, it can't be bad, right?
"Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill!"
*"The American Psychological Association observed in an August 2015 policy statement that research demonstrated a link "between violent video game use and both increases in aggressive behavior ... and decreases in prosocial behavior, empathy, and moral engagement."

Checked your Parahippocampal Gyrus at the door? Sarcasm-intolerant? Perhaps you're suffering from SCC (sarcasm comprehension complex)? Consider the seven early warning signs of SCC, before it's too late:
"Understanding the subtlety of this usage requires second-order interpretation of the speaker's or writer's intentions; different parts of the brain must work together to understand sarcasm. This sophisticated understanding can be lacking in some people with certain forms of brain damage, dementia and autism (although not always), and this perception has been located by MRI in the right parahippocampal gyrus. Research has shown that people with damage in the prefrontal cortex have difficulty understanding non-verbal aspects of language like tone..."
How dare you, dont you realize RayF needs attention on Massdrop to survive! Surely we can overlook the fact that he sarcastically implied they should worry about the connection to violence, then when people called him on it he said its just sarcasm and implied you should read it literally to understand his sarcasm... and then called people braindamaged for not understanding... Clearly a breakdown is immininent... maybe thinking too much about those ugly watches on the desk... lets have some compassion people.
All my buttons increase the brightness except the power button.

I have a GTX 1070. I play WoW, some PUBG, Witcher trilogy, League of Legends, and sometimes I pick up other games like Shadow of Mordor.
The Dell 2716DG is going for $369 USD right now also. Which one would you go with given that you're a bit of a Nvidia fan boy
Silvador
the dell monitor is fantastic and it makes more sense if you have a 1070 already the only con is its tn so viewing angles arnt as good as the ips on the nixeus but the response time is ever do slightly faster on tn so the choice is yours
@B.Hutch is there any chance of getting an extension i get paid on friday and i want to join the drop but i might not make it in time

Nice research. Yep, this monitor is legit. Also, we have had very few issues with Nixeus over the last few years and when problems did arise Nixeus has given great support to the community.
B.Hutch@AKRacing
i joined the drop but apparently my payment method got messed up and now im not in the drop any more so what do i do now?
I just want to add to this, that this is a great monitor, perfect for AMD cards. Awesome color, very little IPS glow, great FreeSync - just like everyone says. However, if you're looking at getting this for an Xbox One X, keep this in mind - FreeSync only works over DisplayPort on this monitor and the Xbox One X needs it to work over HDMI.
That said, I did email them about this and they said they thought they might be able to do FreeSync over HDMI with a firmware update and that they were looking into it, but also that it might not be possible (so don't count on it). While I appreciated their prompt response and honesty ( I wasn't expecting a response at all), just keep in mind that their may be better monitors for the Xbox, if you're looking for variable refresh rates.
Honestly, if this monitor had that ability it would be a perfect monitor.
EU when?
Guess I'll throw my experience in here. Not really trying to drive any point home, just figure it's worth mentioning. I ordered this monitor (the non-adjustable stand version) for $380 about a month ago. When it arrived there were two big issues: 1. there was a large speck of dust under the screen equivalent to a cluster of dead pixels, 2. the HDMI ports didn't pass audio from Nintendo consoles (tested Switch and Wii U) through to either the built in speakers or the audio out port. Contacted Nixeus and they were really good about setting me up with an RMA, even said they could throw a firmware update onto the monitor to fix the Nintendo issue (sidenote: this is apparently a Nintendo issue, not a Nixeus issue, not gonna get into it here though). The monitor was sent in and the RMA form said it could take up to two weeks, so I waited. A little over two weeks after the tracking info had said it arrived at their facility I decided to finally follow up with support and ask how my monitor was, only to find that apparently it had been misplaced and forgotten about, so god knows how much extra time I waited. I probably could've been more assertive earlier on and not just trusted that they'd get it settled, but hindsight is 20/20. My replacement monitor was shipped out the next day and arrived soon. Sure enough, the firmware update fixed the Nintendo issue. As for panel defects, I don't see any major dust particles or anything, but there is a dim green stuck pixel in the middle of the screen. It's liveable, but the interesting thing is, if I get up real close to the panel (way closer than anyone should be) I can actually see that the whole thing is just peppered with these dim green stuck pixels, of varying brightness. I find it hard to believe that these are traditional stuck pixels, so maybe it's just something inherent in the technology that I'm ignorant about. Either way, other than the one especially bright one, they're basically impossible to notice in regular use, and the bright one can only really be seen in dark screens, since it seems to be able to light up to show greens brighter than itself just fine. Am I satisfied with my purchase? Well, this monitor that I have only just arrived at my door 5 days ago, so all that RMA stuff combined with seeing the lower price so soon feels a bit like a death by a thousand cuts. It's a good monitor, it's worth what I paid, but I'm not totally stoked.
I read the shipping details. I assume this is US only and not for Canadian customers :(?
Sad day.
You can buy this from newegg for $325 applying MPBTC18 code and using MasterPass checkout.
*Note: The MPBTC18 code only gives you $25 discount. You should checkout to masterpass to have the discounted price to $325.

You can ignore the guy, he didn’t realize that the $350 sale price already ended by the time everyone saw the link.
weewee
Oh, that would make a lot more sense.
Ship it to Canada and I'm in...
Gnomonish
same... Nixeus stuff just doesn't get on our side of the border with a decent price anymore... I would totally get that...
What is the return policy if the monitor is damaged on arrival (such as dead pixels)?
Thoeo
You would probably have to contact Nixeus, not Massdrop. Massdrop has a no return policy.
Can someone that owns one chime in on their satisfaction?

I can say that it works well and like a charm. I sold my Asus MG279Q for this one. I hear that the screen quality and performance is a step higher when stacked against the MG279Q.
My only gripes about this is that the bezels and buttons are butt ugly and very difficult to use and manage, whereas the MG279Q was sleek and nice and the little joystick and buttons behind the Asus were very intuitive and easy-to-use. Also missing were extra USB ports on the monitor (whereas the Asus had them).
That being said, I enjoyed the MG279Q so much that I'd rather have just stuck with that than upgrading and going through all the hassle for this Nixeus. It was going through all this when I realized that I actually prioritize aesthetics and functionality a bit more than I thought.

Funny, I just bought one two days ago...I've been using it for everything since. As far as I can tell, it works perfectly fine with no issues whatsoever. The only complaint I have is that whites seem to have a bit of a yellowish tint ( but I believe I just need to correct it in color settings, we'll see). If anybody has suggestions for fixing it, I'm all ears.

I just tried that site above and there stuff is way cheaper
Is image retention an issue on this monitor? I was looking at picking one up but noticed that a Newegg reviewer was complaining about image retention. https://www.newegg.com/Product/SingleProductReview.aspx?ReviewID=5102836
im thinking about joining the drop but what happens if not enough people join the drop

even the 1440p monitor on that site is cheaper

You made your point known now let people make their own decisions
Edit: wait your just Hawking your own shit. Your a real turd of a person. How bout you pay for advertising like massdrop does rather then trying to steal customers from someone else's site.
This is one of the best monitors you can get atm if you have a AMD card. Minimal IPS glow and no backlight bleed at all on mine, I got it from the very first drop they did of this. I have had zero issues with mine, the freesync works great as advertised from 30-144.
Colors are very impressive out of the box, you can just set it to 6500k and it gets impressively close to perfect. Of course you can adjust it manually if you want to improve it but most users wont need to.
so yeah...whats with this price? its the same on amazon without prime? so why would i buy it here?

nah the one on amazon is height adjustable. Look for yourself: https://www.amazon.com/Nixeus-27-Inch-FreeSync-Certified-Range/dp/B071G6MYMW?th=1

The $470 one is. The $399 glass stand isn't. It bolts to a fixed spot on the back of the monitor.
Howdy Everyone!
I wanted to address some "concerns" that user Llewellyn00 is expressing. What he is claiming is not reality here on Massdrop. Speaking for this drop specifically Massdrop has a very good relationship with Nixeus and they are a stand up company holding the available inventory for this drop. Within 7 days of the drop ending the products will ship out to those who have joined this drop.
Do not listen to Llewellyn00 as this person is a troll and has no proof of their claims as they have not made any purchases on Massdrop.
Cheers Everyone!
B.Hutch@AKRacing
I would like to comment on your approach to this, because you set a horrible example being any kind of manager. I am a real customer, and I have made purchases on massdrop, they are on my friends account, I didn't even know what massdrop was when I bought my gpu, and made my account shortly after the purchase. I was actually interested to see if when someone finally responded to me, they looked through the purchase history on my account and started accusing me of lying. And you did. You didn't first inquire more on purchases I've made, or what my issues might have been to cause my comments, you immediately became defensive and started calling me a troll/liar and that what I had to say was not valid, in just trying to understand your method of dealing with customers as a manager, and I cannot, that's quite unprofessional. Just to let you know if you had responded to me in a nice way, and tried to understand my issue and work with me if possible. Even sent me a private email to do so. I would have really appreciated that and that would have given me some respect for massdrop maybe even enough to alter my opinion.
Llewellyn00
Llewelyn00,
In that case, please allow me to extend my sincere apology to you sir. I made an incorrect accusation towards you and I am sorry. I am not to proud to admit when I am wrong and in this case I must be. If there is anything I can ever do to assist you in anyway please tag me in the post (@B.Hutch) and I will respond.
There are many trolls on Massdrop and from the outside looking in it appeared that is what you were trying to do. Please know that if you had a bad experience I sure am sorry about that. However its not the norm. I am sure if you will give Massdrop another shot you will be happy with your experience.
Cheers.
For this particular November 2017 drop = We have the units in stock and ready to ship once we receive the orders from Massdrop, so it is very likely they will ship out before the expected ship date.
nixeus
I have heard some very mixed stories on the quality of the panels. Have they improved over time?

You guys are an awesome company! Great mouse/pad btw. S teir.
I own one of these, feel free to ask questions. I will try to answer questions as best as possible

I do not have any bad pixels, I don't recall ant noticable bleed when gaming, but will double check tonight for general light bleed.

I agree which is why we sell those exact Viotek monitors here on Massdrop. In fact Massdrop was the first to sell them. However, a 27" IPS 144hz running at 1440p is gaming perfection. The best of everything.
I run 1440P/144HZ and basically every game is 120-144FPS on ultra. The heck does someones PC performance have to do with how big pixels are in a 32 inch 1080P monitor? Sounds like you have no idea what youre responding to.
I sit barely 2~ feet from my monitors. At that distance, the 27 inch 1080P screen to my right has obvious quality differences. Its fine for watching YT or anime, but trying to game when distracted by how large everything is for the screen space i have is offputting.
Is this a good monitor to pair with a 1080 ti or is better to just go with a g sync monitor?
Load 8 more comments
Correct. I usually limit the frame rate to 144 hz anyways. I don't care about reducing lag. I am not a pro gamer. I have a good cpu, so I don't really face any frame rate drops. Tbh gsync and freesync are great at low framerates, but I'd be lying if I said I missed at higher frame rates.
That is in correct. You will not get 100% feature, but can still sync.
Any clue what happened to this drop? It was in yesterday's email, but it's inactive now?
LucidGryphon
Probably because you can get it cheaper on new egg with promo, 5 comments down for code.
Err what happened to the drop?
Does anyone notice any backlight bleeding, IPS glow, or any other defects in their monitor.

Knightmaster731
Backlight bleed yes, dead pixels yes.
Ips glow however, is not a defect and is in every monitor.
Knightmaster731
It's slight. Better than most monitors I have seen.
Ever going to ship outside of the US? I'd love to pick one if you shipped to Greece.
What's the difference between this and, say the ASUS MG279Q aside from aesthetics?
It seems like all the specs are the same and line up too.

I’m using the Sapphire RX580 nitro
I know amd is supposed to address this issue?
idarerick
I know that AMD was able to fix the issues with flickering on Vega FE, so I would hope they can work to get it fixed on the Polaris cards. I find generally that turning off Freesync when I'm having issues doesn't change the smoothness of the monitor though. And with the newest AMD drivers all you have to do is hit Alt+R, than click Freesync, and turn it off.
Hey so just so i understand i can get the same monitor right now on newegg for $429.00 with shipping, or here for $421.74 and wait like a month for it to get to me? Link https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA0ZW5F71608
