The gangreserve is cheaper on Jomashop by $15 and comes with free shipping and the fact that you don't have to wait two months for the watch. Also, the 130, 231, and 271 are the same price as Jomashop. I'd rather go with Jomashop. Couple all this with Jomashop's two year warranty versus Massdrop's one year warranty and I'd go with Jomashop. Not to mention Massdrop's TERRIBLE customer support.
HaffIs Jomashop reliable? Have you ordered from them before? I ordered a Nomos from Watchbuys 3 years ago. Prices nowhere as low, but customer service is good.
dissipateI've probably gotten a dozen watches from Jomashop over the years. Jomashop competes on one thing alone: price. Although I've not personally had any issues with Jomashop, lots of people do complain about their customer service, warranty fulfillment, and delays in out-of-stock items being shipped on time (e.g., 2-3 weeks becomes 4-8 weeks).
Watchbuys is an authorized dealer. You get the Nomos warranty from Watchbuys. You get the Jomashop warranty from Jomashop, which in some people's opinion, is almost worthless.
So, if saving 25% is worth not having a reliable, manufacturer's warranty, go for it. It's just a matter of what's more important to you.
mtravis38Cool, thanks for the information! Was guessing that Jomashop is not an AD as the prices at the ADs around the world are usually about the same.
PinheadI've made purchases and returns w/Joma and they were fast, efficient and didn't give me any grief. I haven't had to use them for warranty issues yet though.
dealaholicThe issue that makes me hesitate on massdrop is that I don't know how Massdrop warranties work with watch specific issues. I've read the limited 1-year warranty, but I'd like to know how exactly they'd play out a situation, aka movement needing regulating.
