I received mine on Friday.
The pictured pens convey a level of translucency that mine do not.
There was glue residue near the cap ring on both pens. Looks and feels very cheap.
The materials used to create these pens look like that can not be any lower. Even mid level Jin Hao's can look down on these two.
Writes without the springiness or flex I was expecting, but I tend to write with feather-like pressure. The nibs otherwise performed up to my expectations. A flush probably wasn't necessary, as there's little to no silicon grease on the nibs.
Piston and vacuum feed systems work well. The std flex piston pen is leakier than the ahab, so a drier ink would be in order. Both are flowing within an ink adjustable range. Functionality has not been an issue.
In the worst case, it's making my other pens shine brighter, and the money is going in large part to good 'writing supplies' company.
I'd easily recommend either one at a lower base price.
