Support for Alternative Layouts
This is a summary of how alternative layouts have been supported by kits such as Colevrak and Homing. It is not a discussion of alt layout performance and development, but if that interests you I highly recommend starting with Pascal Getreuer’s A guide to alt keyboard layouts (why, how, which one?). With that said, I have a Das mechkey and a Corsaid mechkey, and this is the one I use by far the most (I got the Kailh Blue switches). Note that the Kailh Blues are more like what I assume Cherry Blacks are like (haven't actually tried them), in that these switches are a) VERY loud (by far the loudest I've ever heard), and they have a very well defined tactile click. I LOVE this keyboard, but it's price makes me feel super guilty when I use it and neglect my other mechkeys. Final note: the noise is loud enough that it can be somewhat bothersome when your either hungover or an audiophile. And this a highly inappropriate keyboard for the office.
