I've used a folding saw which is heavier and takes up more room in your backpack. Folding saws are limited by their length which determines how large of a log you can cut. This pocket saw zips through dry wood like nothing, but it's pretty exhausting effort to pull it back and forth. For the same weight, you can get a Little Buck backpacking saw by QiWiz. I haven't tested that so I can't compare.
