Glad to have you join in Alex. Perhaps you can correct my speculations as to why larger people are excluded from the opportunity to buy these high quality jeans, which will support the American economy. BTW the average male waist size is slightly over 36", so nearly half of all men are not covered by the available sizes.
tomcunI can not as I have no knowledge in that subject and don't like to speculate. My random guessing would provide no further insight nor would they be of any benefit to anyone wanting to learn more about these jeans.
I can however say that as one of the people wearing these jeans in the pictures that they are very comfortable on first wear without needing any breaking in and felt thick without feeling like I was wearing tubes of plywood. Based on how the pair of jeans I currently own are holding up and the relative thickness of the denim, I imagine these jeans would hold up well to a lot of activity. They come very long and unless you like cuffing, you'll definitely need to hem. I fit a size 31 typically and I fit into the brand new 30 comfortably. Probably a little snug after dinner. After they loosen up a bit from wearing they'll probably feel even better.
Having owned predominantly $20 jeans from whatever big retailer over the past 20 years, I can say that these felt excellent. Are they worth $160? I don't know as that's a personal choice, but I like that they're 100% US made and I can definitely feel the quality difference.
I also emailed Norman Russell from a personal email account to see if they would respond about ordering a size larger than 36. I'll see if they end up responding.

tomcunFor around this price you can get quality made-in-USA jeans in a 42 waist from Brave Star Selvedge or Williamsburg Garment Company, with a lot more brands offering size 40 (Raleigh, Buck Mason, Gustin etc.). If you're serious about wanting premium clothes in your size, vote your wallet for the brands that do offer them. And then give them some good PR, since for small companies it makes a big difference.

Those are all great recommendations, Kinami. I'd add UBI-IND (beautiful raw denim made in the US with the bigger fellas in mind) and Iron Heart (one of Japan's most respected denim makers goes all the way up to 44" waists for the Europe and America market).
We have previously done many a drops that include big(ger) sizes: from our recent Sage and Hanzo denim going up to 40 waist, to Alpha Industries' already loose-fitting jackets being offered in up to 3XL. We always try to secure and make every drop as size inclusive as possible. I personally take pride in offering as much size flexibility as often as possible whenever the vendor and stock allows.
