I wonder how many people will be able to duplicate the Launchpad demo before throwing their hands in the air and say the hell with that. I have one of the first released launchpads, hard to setup for anything but Ableton and it's collecting dust. ;) Just be careful with the ASIO drivers, if not set right will sound crappy and lagy.

MusicIsGreatOut of interest, what software do you prefer to setup Drum Machines with instead?
I am pretty unfamiliar with these types of products, but from what I have seen so far, Ableton seems to have a pretty wide range of features and an okay-ish interface.

thesawtaThe item was designed to work with Ableton, so do not be surprised if you encounter minor issues getting it to behave correctly with other software programs. That being said, it is a MIDI controller and can work with most other MIDI software programs, as is stated on Novation's site:
"Launchpad S is fully MIDI class-compliant, so it will drive any MIDI application, and you can create a workflow in any DAW using Novation’s award-winning Automap control software."
As anyone who has to program a pad, drum machine or other controller, especially in regards to MIDI is well aware...patience, patience, patience! Even seasons MIDI aficionados will make mistakes and run into walls
