Celebrating Novation’s past while embracing the future of digital synthesizers, the Novation UltraNova Synthesizer is a powerful tool that lets you explore the full spectrum of digital sound. Functioning as a virtual keyboard, USB audio interface, and DAW controller, the UltraNova has the synthesizer engine and additional functions necessary to make music your own.
Basic Functions
After selecting one of the included 384 patches with the large encoder, start riffing through three octaves across the 37 note keyboard. To customize every keystroke, you can adjust the velocity sensitivity and aftertouch of each key. The real fun comes through tweaking the eight rotary encoders, adjusting the pitch and modulation wheels, and adding effects to your selected patch. Once you’ve found just the right tone, the UltraNova remembers your settings and you can store up to 128 additional patches in the hardware.
Additional Features
For further customization, you can apply pass filters, waveforms, and a 33-pattern arpeggiator as needed. In order to make the UltraNova sync up seamlessly with the rest of your recording tools, it includes all of the inputs and outputs you need, can be powered by USB or DC, and comes with a gooseneck microphone and 12 band vocoder for basic vocals. When you throw in Novation’s included software package, the Novation UltraNova Synthesizer is an integrated device that immediately puts you on top of your game.
