I decided to join the drop for the HEM8. I plan to just use it with my S8+ without a DAC or AMP. Would there be any concerns? Like hissing or stuff

Dbh.zhengget the fiio q1 for a cheap starting dac/amp, even though the s8+ is ok, its still just a phone (and this is literally my exact setup lol... thing is about these though, they are sensitive enough that if ANY hiss exists on the line you'll hear it)

Wolfie13For the love of anything please get a dac. The S8 dac is so flat(not the good kind of flat, like a boring and lifeless flat) that something that’s supposed to sound amazing ends up only sounding good. Get the smallest dac from a reputable manufacturer and you’ll be much happier.

Dbh.zhengOf course you'll get a better sound with DAC. But to answer your hissing part. I just tested the HEM8 with Note8. I would think the S8+ is using the same headphone output as the Note8. I can't hear any hissing.

JyriThe headphone out on the s8+ is ok... but not good, it def has some hiss (as does the note, maybe you just can't hear it). Any dac will help but the fiio q1 is the best option at 50 bucks being worth easily twice that in quality
