Good news for anyone underwhelmed with their purchase so far, I may have found a solution.
These are extremely hard to get a good fit with. They sound like ass with Comply tips, and frankly it's tolerable but not much better with the included silicons. I have been trying different tips, different gear, but the sound just hasn't been right.
I just thought of trying some triple-flange tips I have that came with some MEE earbuds on a previous drop, decided why not give it a shot? Maybe getting closer to the eardrum will help. There's an improvement for sure. Vocals get really clean. Everything tonally comes along much better. Detail retreival is not the most I've ever heard, but it's good. I don't think soundstage and imaging have really changed much, which is okay because those were better than acceptable to begin with.
If you have a more lenient budget than $199, I'd look elsewhere because these are a pain in the dick to get right. But if you're on a limited budget or have already bought these, I'd say changing the tips to triple-flange makes these punch enough/more than enough to justify the price tag.

blueberrymannAlternately a dragonfly red or xduoo xd-05. I've tried them with my desktop setup of topping d20/ nuforce ha200. No good results until now. I think they come with maybe t500s, I cant remember which for sure. Caveat that I did get a refurbished pair on the last drop... maybe a bad pair? But I dunno if thats it because they sound pretty good now

jforce713If you could try a dragonfly black , it has a bit of a warmer tone that I think suits the Primo Better. I always Replace the ones that come with the nuforce IEMs because they are just the T100 not tx100 , I might be partial to my pico but the primo just has that $1000 sound with the phased crossover that the hems just can't compete with.

blueberrymannGood to know. I may try the tx100s then, most of the time I do prefer foam tips. Pico looks cool, sadly spending on a car instead. Damn budgets.

jforce713If these are anything like the HEM6, just buy spinfits. Easy fit, consistently.
