What would be a good portable Dac/Amp to use with my HD6xx and Sony Xperia 1 V cell phone?
I am new to this hobby. I purchased a HD6XX and plan to use it with my Sony Xperia 1 V cell phone, that has a 3.5mm jack. I was wondering if I needed a portable dac/amp or just a portable amp and if so what would one recommend? Any assistance one could provide, would be greatly appreciated. Kind regards, Haz

First off, I'm blown away by their detail, resolution and intimacy. My 24bit FLAC Recordings paired with these bring the concert to ME, like it's going down RIGHT in front of me, while still having an amazing soundstage and instrument separation. The crossover is especially kick-ass since I can't hear any bleed between the lows/mids/highs, and overall they're very balanced as well! The clarity and resolution is also first rate IMO! I'm already hearing nuances from my recordings that I've never heard before using these😀
The highs are silky smooth, the mids are F'N heaven, and the low-end is frickin Perfect ;)
I NEVER thought that I'd prefer the sound of IEM's compared to headphones, but I'm definitely a believer now! I don't see myself ever using headphones again other than my Sony MDR-7506's to help me edit and mix my recordings late at night! And I was going to get a pair of the Massdrop x Sennheiser HD 6xx cans, but with the Primo 8's sounding this great, I don't see myself actually needing them!
Overall, these are a HUGE step up from my Nuforce EDC IEM's and should be for 3x the price hahaha 😀 But to be 100% honest, I wasn't expecting them to sound as amazing as they actually do! I definitely feel like these are absolutely awesome IEM's, and for the $180 price tag, I feel like I got a great deal😎👍🎧😇 Now I just hope that they last me a VERY long time!
The ONLY con to these IMO is the shoddy MMCX Cable! So once I get the OKCSC MMCX Cable that I posted earlier, then I'll truly be able to soak into these and get lost in their killer sound!
