I was waiting for a direct drive turntable since a recently have started my vinyl collection have have been shopping around. At first this looks like a great deal, right in my price range but the few reviews out there makes me still believe the Lp-120 is still a better build and cheaper by 40 bucks on amazon. Am i wrong? Is this superior then the very similar Audio Technica one?

ChuckNastyFor the same price it'd be worth checking out the Uturn Audio Orbit TT... I'd say they're the best out there in the price range.

SlowcountryDepends on whether you're looking for belt drive or direct drive (they both have their advantages, I won't get into it here) and whether or not you want the USB output. Adding a cue and pre-amp to the orbit to make it more comparable to this turntable brings it up to $290.
That said, I agree that those just looking for a high quality, affordable turntable to play LPs should consider their options.
