Never used a balm before but my beard gets more unruly by the day. I do use an oil every day. Do you beardos use a balm at all? Is it an every day type product?
EndlessBenBalm can be applied daily. It is typically used as leave-in conditioner, and is for the hair (as opposed to oil, which is more for your skin). The balm also helps as a light-hold product that can keep your beard "held together"..I put balm in every day for a soft and more manageable beard.
EndlessBenI use a light balm as I need it for my giant beard. If I don't the sides puff out. I don't like pomades or anything with 'hold' as it gets all sticky. I use a dollop (think bigger than a pea) and work it in my beard and leave it in all day.
EndlessBenAs the others have pointed out, beard balm is for daily beard management (or as often as you want to tame the beard). Be careful that you only use a comb/your hands after applying balm as you don't want to gunk up your brush.
EndlessBenNot that you probably need more affirmation, but regular beard balm user. Helps with styling and moisturizing (important if you have a significant other to keep happy - nobody likes a crunchy beard). I've tried wax, beard control (by Billy Jealousy, has a consistency like a moisturizer), and balm, and I use the balm the most. Can't speak for this brand I'm particular, but the balm I use is all natural and works well, so this one looks good.
