Product Description
When O’Douds Apothecary founder Clayton Douds couldn’t find the kind of grooming products he wanted—high-quality formulas, responsibly sourced ingredients—he started making his own. Within a year, his hobby of crafting pomades became a full-time business, and the product line expanded to include beard balm, aftershave, candles, cologne, and more Read More

The only thing this shampoo has going for it is the slight evergreen/pine smell. Otherwise it is a thin and runny formula that leaves your hair feeling stripped. Not in any way impressed, particularly for the price.

It gets the job done, but I don't really like the way it smells or feels and it doesn't perform particularly great. I had to bring it down another star, because it's still in my shower and I have to tell myself to use it so I can get rid of it without feeling bad for wasting product.

Smells great. Shampoo doesn't lather to my liking. I didn't regret the one-time purchase but won't buy again.

Smells really great. It is really runny, unlike other shampoos that are usually thick in consistency. But I think it lathers up fine. Does a very good job of cleaning my hair. I shampoo twice a day (hot and humid weather...), I have 5-inch long hair, and one bottle lasts me 2.5-3 months.

I bought this combo for the first time at the last drop and I am back to buy a backup pair (no, I am not out of the first batch - I just want the next group on hand whenever I need it). My regular products have been Redken All Soft for the last few years at a time when my previously soft (but thick hair) went through a coarse stage. I have been doing an alternating strategy since getting the O'Douds of 2 times with this one and one of Redken. I prefer my hair to have some texture and dimension to it and not be totally flat. The O'Douds products actually make my hair feel cleaner and at least as soft. I really like it. I love the smell, but I don't think that lasts after you are using it...that I notice. My rating is not in light of any value calculation - I think that is personal determination. My Redken is $40 for 2 of the one liter bottles and that used to be my expensive option... For me, these are quality ingredients and I like what it does for my hair and that is worth it for me. They do work well and the quality/nature of the ingredients is a priority for me.. I will look to see if these O'Douds products continue working as well over time as they certainly have at the start. I really don't have to use that much with each washing to get the full effect.

These smell incredible, no denying that. However, I need to use far too much of it to justify the cost for such small bottles.

Unfortunately the shampoo and conditioner did not meet my expectations. The shampoo barely creates any foaming so I need to pump it up a couple of extra times and considering how small these bottles are (just 355ml), they will barely last a month.
Same thing with the conditioner, you just need to use a good sized amount in order to cover your hair, and my hair is very short.
Cannot complain about the scent, they smell great but still paying almost $30usd when you can get a better result with a store brand, just not worth it.
eesparzaIt doesn't foam much because it doesn't have any sulfates in it, which is the foaming agent in many shampoos. They are bad for your hair, so its better that they don't contain them. But I can see how it makes is slightly more difficult to get it thoroughly in your hair without the lather.
