I'm also really curious to know how this paper fairs with fountain pens. The bright white color would be great to highlight any shading.

tjt7aI've read very mixed reviews about how fountain pen friendly this paper is (or isn't as the case may be). Other versions of this notebook have been sold on Massdrop in the past. Some of these previous drops have more discussion about the best uses for this paper. Hint: using them fountain pens isn't one of them, but there are comments about the paper working well with other writing/drawing implements.
While the description provided by Massdrop is interesting, I found this pdf (at end of post) that provides a bit more context for these notebooks (and other products by the same company sold through Massdrop).
Hope this helps anyone considering the purchase.
Cheers.

Great news group! The vendor has let us know that the group's order was picked up and is on its way to our warehouse now. Based on the tracking provided these are scheduled to come in 3/25. Our warehouse team has been forwarded tracking info and will be standing by, ready to get these packed up and turned around as soon as they come in.
Sometimes shipments get delayed en route, not to worry as we will keep the group posted throughout the process and notify you all if anything causes delay.
Thanks for your patience and expect an update from us on 3/26 or sooner if something comes up.

Thanks again for joining this drop! With your help we were able to make it successful for the community. We've just submitted the group's order with the vendor for the Ogami Large Notebooks (2-Pack) and they are working hard to prepare it for shipment.
As soon as the group's order is ready at the vendor's location, they will send the bulk shipment to our warehouse in New Jersey where our warehouse team will break it up into individual orders and ship them directly to you! The current estimated ship date from our warehouse is 3/26.
Rest assured that we we will provide you all with updated information regarding the status of your order throughout the process. You can expect an update from us by the end of the day Pacific Time on 3/20.

I love these notebooks. They're amazing for drawing with ink. Every art store sells "bleed proof" pads but the Ogami books are the only things that come close on that promise. Dark copics which would leave normally bloody smears on the next page are barely visible ghosts with this. The ink is also far darker and bolder then it would be when soaking into normal paper, and never feathers. Plus the feel of the paper is a dream with every pen. Isographs and Pilot Parallels are a bit scratchy on normal paper and get clogged up as the paper fibers get peeled away, on these they just glide across.
If you're going to use this as a general purpose sketchbook though you should probably look elsewhere. It's weird, for how good they are with pens it's almost like they had to balance it by being terrible for pencils. At least mechanical pencils. Because the paper has no tooth whenever you're drawing with a mechanical pencil you can feel it digging trenches into the page and gripping the paper, and if you're too heavy with it then it's going to poke a hole through to the next page. It might be a bit better if you're using large tipped wooden pencils, but sharp graphite points just doesen't agree with it.
infinitelyblankHey @infinitelyblank -- I'm actually surprised to hear that you like these with Pilot Parallel.
How is the drying time? We'd love to see a sample of what that looks like, feel free to post here.
Really great information throughout the post, thanks for sharing all of this in the discussion.

These are so beautiful and it's so neat how they are made from stone and not wood. I've been wanting to buy these for a while. I hope we get enough people to make this drop happen!

If you're curious what this "REPAP" paper is, check this article out. It's 80% calcium carbonate bonded with HDPE polymer. http://www.wired.com/2013/02/stone-paper-notebook/
Seems it can smear with gel pens... a little wary of how it would work with the Zebra Sarasa pens I just ordered from JetPens.com which some claim are the best pens in the world.
