Kind of annoying to see this like a week after another OHTO 2 pack drop. Save the slightly nicer designs for last to try and get a few extra orders, right? Cause you're american and have no sense of morality or looking out for anyone other than yourself? Why offer a convenient profitable service that helps and is useful to people when you could make it inconvenient and screw people over with shady timing like this and be even more profitable (despite not having a soul and forsaking all human decency to do that).
Why couldn't they have been offered at the same time so that people could have made a fair decision?? I see absolutely no reason whatsoever for this. If they were truly organized separately by accident I would say massdrop needs to exercise some basic communication in their ordering department. If 2 drops from the same company can be organized completely independent of each other; I would say there is some extremely unnecessary duplication of effort going on. You have multiple staff members engaging the same company over different drops? And now you've pissed off customers as a result. Get your shit together, take 2 seconds to stop looking at the bottom line of your profits, and offer a good service.
End result, customer is extremely inconvenienced and I am debating ending my relationship if I am simply going to be disappointed every other week. This is definitely not the first time I have been pissed off at a better option being offered a shortly after I am committed to an earlier inferior drop. Sure I get it is a drop based model, but have some tact with your timing. Offering similar items this close together is setting yourself up for some pissed off customers.

gnomedI can understand you'd be irritated, and I agree they DO need to coordinate better. But they're not screwing you out of money, and you liked the pens before enough to order them (I'm assuming). Is it necessary to sling insults and talk like they're practically fascist thugs? No soul, forsaking human decency? Because you couldn't order the slightly nicer pen? What language do you have left to use when you encounter ACTUAL injustice in your life?

dropbrianGenerally it's the same language and it's not like anyone listens to anything I have to say anyway. I think I made a valid point and I stand by it. You agreed. Is your only problem the choice of words, because I think you will find hyperbole is common throughout various forms of writing.

gnomedIt just seemed a little ridiculous, especially as Napoleon's dictum applies: never attribute to malice what can be explained by incompetence. I agree, it behooves them to check and see if they've got a drop from the same manufacturer coming up. I think they would have wanted to sell you these more expensive pens, too, so I don't think they screwed you AND themselves deliberately. Therefore, a GOOD hyperbole would be something like: "You all can't figure when one drop follows right after another? Are you even aware that a bowel movement usually follows a fart; I'm sure not! I bet the lot of you run around the office with smelly, brown-stained pants because you are just that lacking in insight or forethought."

gnomedJust so you know, the community votes on the drops that go active. MassDrop doesn't deliberately try and sell something one week and then go and drop a similar item a week later. What happens is people see something, get interested, become educated about a new item, then go and vote on something to drop that is similar that they would now like to try out.

Neblin7I have also noticed a trend where fancier items are dropped immediately after drops on more budget versions close. I agree with gnomed that it is likely intentionally structured that way.
I would also do this to maximize profit if I was running a for-profit business, but it can irritate a customer base if people are repeatedly tricked into buying the budget item instead of the deluxe model that they really wanted. Eventually, they will either make purchases elsewhere or learn to only purchase the exact item that they want.
Some sort of upcoming drop list would probably lessen the sense of frustration.

Cyn1cIt makes no sense for them to "intentionally" structure it that way; assuming they make a small cut from each drop, they make more money with more expensive drops. When the slightly-better products follow right after the lower-end products, you get EXACTLY this situation where lots of people would rather have paid a bit more money for the better product, but now can't. Seems like a LOSS of profit to me!
I'm sure we can all agree that Massdrop is evolving, and needs to KEEP evolving. The notion that they're obviously deliberately screwing all of us—and YOU TWO guys are the only ones to notice!—is just stupid.
