I bought this iron several years ago and loved it - until it burned out about a month outside of warranty. Called the company and they wanted $80 just to look at it. I decided I can get several irons for the "just look at it cost" and ended up giving it to Good Will (for them to try to fix). I found a couple of refurbished older irons for about $20 each that don't shut off and get super hot and I love them. Since then I got a brand new iron at an estate sale for about $10 still in the box. I would love to have the Oliso again, but don't want to take the chance as I've heard of too many other complaints like mine. (Oh, and I NEVER put water in my irons!)

Hi Quilter4Charity,
We are always looking for new irons that stay hot. Would you mind sharing the brand and model? Also, I'm completely intrigued about not using water. Does that help in getting the iron really hot?

The older refurbished irons I found at Amazon were T-Fal Ultra Glide Diffusion irons. I have not found any more since. They no longer make irons that stay hot. All modern irons have the auto shut-off which I hate for quilting/sewing. (To remind myself that the iron is on, I turn on a lamp next to my ironing board, so I don't leave the room with that light on.) I don't put water in my irons because eventually it will cause problems: sputtering, rusting, leaking, etc. I just use a spray bottle with water and spray my fabric, let it sit a bit, and then press. Another issue with irons for quilting/sewing are the holes in the sole plate. We would prefer no holes. If you could find an iron with a LONG shut-off, no holes, and gets very hot, you'd be a hero!
I love this iron! I've never used the steam function in any iron before because they've all hissed and spit and leaked making a mess of my ironing board. I use the steam on this one every day and I am using way less starch as a result. I also like that it doesn't auto turn off for 20 minutes and when it does auto-off, it goes cold. My last iron was always a little warm to the touch when it auto-timed off and that didn't seem right. My only caution is to be careful when you place it down close to the edge of your ironing board. If it's too close to the edge, it may accidentally fall off when it rises up. I use the wider end of the board now just to be safe.
Got my iron in the mail today and tried it out. I wasn't expecting it to play little chimes when it goes up and down but nice. Little hard to empty but I like the steam and am hoping the lifters help shoulder problems.
This is a great price. If there are any problems, does Olisio provide customer support?

If more people buy the pink Oliso TG1600 iron will the price drop below $139.99, or is this the lowest price?
That's the lowest price.
Rashkh
Well, I think I could find it lower elsewhere
I see this in several places on the Internet for $139. However, it gets terrible reviews so I will not be purchasing it.

Best iron I've ever use. Hopefully you'll get a chance to try someone's sometime.

Hi Traceywirth,
You should have received an email from Customer Support on this awhile ago. Can you check your spam or Junk folders in email for it?
I bought this iron about 3 years ago and absolutely love it.
