Actually this lens is normally $599 on the Olympus site so $399 is a pretty good price. $100 seems like an opening bid to me so I'd check the Ebay ad more carefully. They are presently on sale at $499 through Olympus and legit dealers so you're still ahead with this offering. Now the kit lens 40-150mm is sold rather cheaply but that's "40- 150mm" not "14-150mm" this is an easy mistake to make.

Make sure the lens is well seated in the mount. If other micro4/3 lenses work with your E-PL5 camera you may have a defective lens.

yes, ish. The contacts can be finicky. i can get it to recognize now, but occasionally it takes more effort than it should to line everything up. The ergonomics of the lens and body together are a little awkward - it’s front heavy. i got an old omd-10 body from a buddy and have found it much easier to use.
