Ok, I’m officially confused. Are you offering an OM-1 m2 AND the 40-150 lens for $999? Or the OM-5 AND the 40-150 lens for $599. The lens by itself retails for $1399!

HrbielI find it concerning that this listing includes both e-m1 and e-m5 in the title plus a photo of the 40-150 F2.8 pro lens. Undermines ones confidence in this deal. Anyway, I am quite sure that this drop is for the e-m1 body only, and it seems like a pretty good deal for the international version plus drop's 30-day return guarantee. update - looks like the em-5 can be had for $520 less ($479). Still not sure if the 40-150 pro is included with both or not.

Looks like a pretty good deal if you are into M43 cameras. Personally I prefer Fuji over Olympus. I find the button placement (and number of buttons) better on the former. But this is a personal subjective choice of course. I'd love to point out a Fuji XT-3 or XT-30 and say that it's a better deal. But I can't really. While the XT-30 has better specs at this price, if you are already into M43 that won't make any difference. This would be a great deal for someone who has a couple M43 lenses but an older body.

Is this E-M1 mkii or mki? The header says none, and text body says ii.

I used this camera and lens while on safari in Zimbabwe--took amazing photographs and I highly recommend it. Mine was also equipped with a 1.4x teleconverter.

Olympus has, on occasion, had refurbished EM1 II for $1200, with 90 day warranty. Note that Olympus does collect state tax. As noted elsewhere in this thread, the cameras come with a 30 day warranty from Massdrop. There are 3rd party warranties available for new and used camera equipment. Note that a EM1 Mark III is likely to be announced soon, which should drive down prices of the Mark II. Those considering the EM1 II should also consider the Panasonic G9.

Not a great deal for those of us in Canada. Price In US$ plus taxes and shipping etc is much higher than buying straight from a Canadian dealer. (Plus Canadian Warranty)

I'm in USA and asked about the implications of "international spec". I'm well aware of what international spec means for camera buyers in the USA, but I wanted to find out how Massdrop is facilitating repair/warranty. Besides equipment failure repair, one may not be able to get important or significant firmware updates that extend the ability of the camera. Can't say the response I got is very informative, nor am I very happy with it, because there is no warranty. Consequently, my opinion of Massdrop just took a hit. Here's the response: Hi, Camilla here with Massdrop Community Support. Thank you for reaching out to us today. I understand you'd like more information on the 'international spec' status we have listed for the Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark II Mirrorless Camera. I'd be happy to provide more information.  The 'international spec' status basically means we are procuring the merchandise from an international vendor. The product will be the same as any other of its type. You can find details about this status here: Help Center It doesn't look like this camera comes with a warranty. If you notice any defects with the camera upon receipt, please reach out to us as soon as possible.  I hope this information helps! If you have any other questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to let us know.  Best Regards,  Camilla For a complete list of our policies and FAQ, please visit the Help Center!

Hi Sig, I wanted to step in and clear things up because if one member has a question others most likely will as well. So, first thank you for bringing this up and giving us the opportunity to give the community the information you are asking for. With any products that do not have a manufacturers warranty clearly stated in the Description or Specs section of a drop that product will have a 30-day return policy. It is true that Olympus America Inc., the authorized US importer of Olympus Global products most likely will not offer to help with the warranty on any product not imported by them. On the other hand Olympus Global does actually provide a limited manufacturers warranty but involves having to send the camera to Japan for any warranty service needed. Not only do they do this but any firmware, software or drivers you may need during the course of ownership can easily be downloaded here, without restriction and in English. Hope this helps, Cheers! EDIT: They're many Olympus authorized service centers in the US that will gladly make a repair for a fee.

You should be insuring your camera gear at the very least which will give you coverage from accidental damage if you get the right coverage

I'm really interested in this offer but am apprehensive about buying an "International Spec" camera (I'm in the US). If I correctly understand how Olympus warranties work they won't repair cameras from the grey market in the US. Does anyone have any experience with how you would deal with a warranty issue if you were to have one? Thanks.

richdtI do have several Olympus camera.
  1. EM-5 , the lcd frame has a crack, I return for free repair.
2, EM5-2, the battery cover broken. I bought a parts from ebay. and replaced by my self. for other cheap models, I don't have issue. and I had a Panasonic GX7, I drop it on the brick floor, every the battery fall out. after I put it back. it still work perfectly. there is only a dent left on metal body. I did no check Massdrop store warranty on this camera. if they have a year in store warranty , should be fine. if not, from my personal opponion, it's not safe to buy. for camera lens. I never experience any problem with any brand, I do own pentax, nikon, canon, sony cameras too.

scottluMy concern is that even if Massdrop will help with getting it repaired if you have a problem, it may take a long time to get the camera back. I've decided to not buy it even though the price is very good.... thanks.
