I shall add something too. I notice a hot pixel at near the top right corner and a bright pixel somewhere near the middle. These appear on every picture, particularly bad in low light conditions. Such defects on the sensor are eventualities, and thankfully olympus has a built-in pixel remapping function, but for an advertised brand new camera, I don't think this should happen. So maybe all our cameras do come with defects/used, that's why the pricing is quite low. I won't be requesting a refund for this drop, too much trouble, plus I'm actually quite happy with the camera. Looks awesome and really respectable image quality. For future buyers, please take note of what you are getting yourself into. And lastly for massdrop, do kindly reflect on this false advertising, do try to uphold the reputation you have painstakingly earned

ZQowZQow, I don't think that cameras on this drop was some kind of really defected. In my opinion it was a stores cleaning - all this 20 cameras was an live example units in different stores. So someone got fingerprints or any another small artefacts, that does not reduce quality of the camera or images.
I'm pretty happy with mine, but as for gift for somebody - not this time. And the fact, that cameras was new, but opened - definitely should be in description. Especially if someone buy it for a gift.
I also got a one green hot pixel in centre (fixed with pixel remapping). Also after some long series (20-40 shots) with long exposure many temporarily hot pixel shows up. But also magically disappear after stop shooting for about a minute. And this is also isn't a failure - just a sensor overheating.
Anyway - I share your feelings and happy with my unit too. :)

sichevPerhaps defective was too strong a word to use. And I believe your explanation of the cameras being live examples is certainly plausible, that explains the shutter count, finger prints, scuff marks. Maybe even the hot pixels as the store noticed them and made them test cameras instead of disappointing customers.
Ultimately we do all have different expectations I guess. I do not like receiving something I did not pay for, a good price doesn't justify anything. Furthermore if it's not bnib, I can actually get it for the same price in singapore.
It would be good for massdrop to explore this case of miscommunication. Maybe even give a statement here. Don't worry I won't be asking for a refund :)
Btw thanks for that Amazon link, I bought 1 for myself too :) currently looking for a good deal on a prime lens (50mm equivalent).
