I can't justify joining the drop because I still use my TG1, and it's an amazing camera. I've carried it on a 200 mile backpacking trip, mountaineering in blizzards, on obstacle course and endurance races, and while raising two young, destructive children, and it's held up and functioned perfectly through all of it. I'm not a photographer, nor do I play one on television, but for an average guy who leads a very rough lifestyle, this is a great camera.
What does import model mean.
This is disappointing. I own this camera. Paid $279 for it on amazon during a Black Friday sale. It is currently widely available for $299. Why would I pay MORE for this camera on massdrop? I thought group buys would be a way to save money. This lowers my confidence in this platform.

Thats a great deal @mikecous and as a community driven platform we are always looking for the best deals for our members. If you have found a better deal please post it in the disscusion.
All that aside and having owned this camera, how do you feel it performs?

Fantastic camera. I run a swim school and out company owns half a dozen of them and we use them for videoing clients underwater. That's why I was interested in the drop. I was interested in buying several.

This is a solid camera. I've thrown everything but the kitchen sink at it. Rough water in Costa Rica and a recent 20 ft. drop in the bleachers. Still works. Better pics then video but still very happy with mine. Price here is iffy!
I can get this right now on Amazon.com for $319 with free shipping, so this isn't a great deal.
I have used this camera and it does a really solid job. The battery life is not tremendous. Extra batteries are nice to have, especially if off the grid for a few days. My canoe mate has the TG-4 with us for 6 days canoeing in Canada last summer. I had a GoPro Hero 4. For stills this camera was far superior to the GoPro. For video, it was the opposite. The GoPro did a better job. This is a good price, although the TG-4 is currently available (5/8/16) for $329 on bestbuy.com. So while this deal is good compared to regular retail price, its about what you can sometimes find this camera on sale for. I have also used and been pretty happy with the Panasonic Lumix DMC‑TS5. The Panasonic is boy scout tested (i.e. has survived being used by our scout troop for over a year by scouts an is still alive and well).

note that if you're already bringing a battery pack, you can charge the battery with a cable (I bought one used that came without the cable, so I didn't realize that until recently). You can charge overnight and save the weight of the extra battery.
Agreed on the video, especially if you want to record sound. My experience has been that the mic picks up the sound of the auto-focus and adds an ugly grinding noise to its recordings. You can go into the settings and turn off audio recording.
How does the tg4 compare to a nikon aw110?
I had the TG-3 a few years ago, and was very impressed with it. Unfortunately mine had a manufacturing defect and I had to return it. I bought it through Tigerdirect, and all I can say is that you should avoid that place like the plague! 2 months of arguing with tech support agents failed to get me a replacement, and I was eventually only able to get a refund. In another stroke of bad luck a shortage of the camera occurred that year and I was unable to find a new one to buy for a reasonable price.
Anyway, back to the TG-4; as others photos here show it has excellent image quality for a point-and-shoot, and its macro capability is nothing short of miraculous! The TG-4's ability to record RAW is a big deal to-the lack of this function was one of the few things I didn't like about the previous model.
This drop is really tempting to me since I remember having a lot of fun with the TG-3. These really are the best rugged point and shoots on the market!

You can get it on Amazon for the same money, so don't feel pressured to participate in the drop.

TL;DR: I don't have a TG-4, but I've had the Panasonic DMC-TS3, (and because of a fluke), the Olympus TG-1, TG-2, and TG-3. The Olympus TG series is awesome because it gives you freedom to shoot wherever you are, and it has the toughness and battery life to back it up. The TG-1 and TG-2 cost $399 when new, but in Olympus's attempt to lower the TG-3's price to $349, the rear screen actually got worse and overall build quality/materials suffered. The TG-3 still offers best-in-class image quality compared to other waterproof/rugged point and shoots, but it's certainly not going to out-shoot a DSLR inside a waterproof case. Low light sensitivity, microscopic macro, and effective image stabilization are more than adequate for most uses, making this a great every-day-carry adventure camera.
Some things to consider regarding these cameras: 1) Battery charging is done in-body using the included (and proprietary USB cable) and opening a waterproof door. That's actually how I got a TG-2 ~ My TG-1's electronics got fried by crappy local power in Thailand and Olympus sent me a new TG-2 as a replacement. Olympus has an official external battery charging accessory, but it's really expensive ~ I've used cheaper ones like Wasabi power and they seem to work fine. When you have this camera, do yourself a favor and get a couple sets of batteries. If you don't use GPS for geotagging and turn the camera off when you're not using it, a single battery can last hundreds of shots over a couple of days. 2) The rear screen on the TG-3 is really easy to scratch. It's plastic and it's not very tough at all. Also, while a universal problem, the screen will be next to impossible to see underwater unless you're looking directly at it. 3) The Aperture Priority mode is simulated. There's only 3 steps; f/2.0, f/2.8, and f/8.0 wide, and f/4.9, f/6.8, and f/18 zoomed, and it doesn't actually affect depth of field. More or less, it applies ND filters, meaning it maintains the same exposure but affects ISO (higher) and shutter speed (longer). 4) With these cameras, even when powered on, the exterior lens doesn't move. This helps with super-fast power-on-to-first-shot times, making the camera ready to shoot nearly instantaneously. This benefit comes with a trade-off: the majority of the lenses (focusing, zooming) and the image sensor are actually perpendicular to the image plane and all of the light goes through a prism. This optical formula degrades image quality but it also helps making the camera compact and rugged. If you're comparing just by price, a $199 point and shoot will have better image quality. Buy this camera only if you're going to really use it. 5) Olympus recommends replacing the waterproof packing and seals annually. These are wear items and you will get charged for the service.
Can you even get the DMC-TS3 anymore? I thought it was from 2011? Of the Olympus TG-4 vs Panasonic Lumix DMC-TS6 comparisons I have been seeing, the TG-4 is said to have sharper pictures while the TS6 shot better video and audio.
So, what do you care about more? Cameras are always some sort of compromise.
I remember somewhere in dpreview among all the weatherproof cameras, Panasonic Lumix DMC-TS3 ranked as the overall best. I am not sure if this drop came as a result of poll here in MD, but if there is a drop on the Panasonic Lumix model, I would be joining in.
Kart
I currently own the TG-3, and I previously owned the DMC-TS3, in addition to the TG-1 and TG-2. Even the original TG-1 blew the DMC-TS3 out of the water in terms of image quality, ergonomics, battery life, etc. I'm more of a photographer and barely use the video function, but from my limited understanding, if action video is your thing, a Go-Pro might be a better bet, simply because of all the different mounts and accessories you can get for it.

Thanks fellas for your inputs. Ya, my observations and remembrances are pretty old since I was in the market in 2011 when TS3 was the latest. Checked DPReview and appears, as informed by @Oelm, TG3 tops the list. thank you very much for the feedback
I got a tg-3 for cheap this year, and I absolutely love it! I have it on a carabiner clipped to the chest strap of my hiking pack for quick access, and it held up to a huge amount of punishment on a recent week of backpacking. Despite bashing into stuff, getting dropped and tumbling down huge slopes, sweat, grime, and dirt, it just kept going!
Are these greymarket? If not, will the full manufacturer warranty (if any) apply?
I have a TG-3 and love it. My only complaint is lack of RAW support; which it looks like they remedied with with the TG-4. (I normally shoot a Canon FF, the TG-3 for underwater/risky hikes).
Went snorkeling in Patagonia last year with it; was happily surprised with the results, also easily handled some decent glacier trekking with no issues.

Thanks for sharing these awesome shots! I'm getting chills just looking at them hahaha.
I always forget, will there but custom fees shipping to Canada? And what's the ETA after the drop closes? Thanks!
I own the older TG-3 and I can say it is a great camera. The TG-4 adds a few more features.
I am a big Canon fan, especially for DSLR and day to day point and shoot. I was getting tired of purchasing underwater cases for the Canon cameras. So, I did some research and went with the TG-3. I love the TG-3. It is well made, the waterproof feature is great for snorkeling or being outside in rough weather. The GPS feature as well works great. It locks on a signal pretty quickly - much faster then the older Sony I had. The built in Wifi is also well thought out and easy to pair with a phone or tablet. Great to see live shots remotely - then activate the zoom and/or shutter. Very cool. Also note that the lens is an F2.0. This camera does a great job in low light situations - like restaurants for foodie photos!
As Zerbra6K said, the Macro is the real star. It does an incredible job with close up photography (ie, flowers) plus you can purchase a pretty inexpensive light ring made for the camera for even lighting.
Last - the photos look great!!! This is now my go to, throw in a pocket, take on a hike or event camera.
The TG-4 inherits all this and builds on it.

do you have the light ring? I've been thinking about getting it, and I wondered if you've gotten good results!
EZ_living
Sorry, no. No experience with the light ring.
Just to give you an idea of the macro capability of this camera, I've provided a few un-edited jpegs. Aside from being a rugged camera it has some seriously microscopic macro capability out of the box. The first image is the 'X' keycap on my keyboard. The 2nd is a .7mm mechanical pencil tip. the third image is a portion of the US penny. You can buy a light ring that uses the camera's own flash led to disperse the light. I used it in the photos below (handheld). If I had a remote, they'd be a lot sharper images. I believe the Olympus wifi phone app lets you take pics remotely but I didn't have time to set that up. Sharing files between camera and phone is a breeze too.
