Hey guys, I have been yoyoing for over 3 years now, and have attended contests such as Florida state, Southeast Regional, Worlds, and International contests. I've played and owned a lot of yoyo's, including the Summit. It is not a beginner yoyo by any means, more for intermediate and advanced players. However One Drop and CLYW are both wonderful companies who make amazing (albeit expensive on the CLYW side) yoyo's (or return tops), so if you are getting more into high end yoyo's, these are 2 companies I would recommend giving your money to.
To be critical of the Summit for people who are still interested and never played one or never heard about them, they don't have a lot of character. It's a great player, has a nice H shape and a weight distribution that gives it a strong spin time, and OD side effects make it's weight customizable.
You won't be disappointed with this Yoyo; but at some point you'll just become bored with how straightforward it plays, or at least I did, and numerous people I know feel the same. However that's no reason not to buy it, especially at this price point for a brand new one. If you enjoy a solid playing and reasonably mid speed yoyo over a floaty or faster yoyo, I'd recommend the Summit. With the side effects I'm sure one could make it play more floaty, perhaps with ultra lights (I used domes and spikes).
SomunchyThanks for the thorough review @Somunchy!

SomunchyGreat review. Though I have to say I don't think anyone who is shopping for their first high-end yoyo should shop for personality. Solid, stable, medium speed -- that's where it's at. I love my Summit(s).
