Not unless you don't care if you have HDMI inputs that all fail

FYI, this AVR is currently available NEW on Amazon (sold by Amazon too) for $429. So can get it immediately for effectively $5 more when you factor in shipping. Also if it's DOA or has a problem, you'd have Amazon to easily return it.

I'm using one of these in my living room to push 4 polk full range speakers and a sub. Movies + Music + vinyl w/the phono input. No complaints.

I had one of these die on me just the other day. Evidently, Onkyo has an issue with the DTS chip on the HDMI board. I didn't feel like baking (literally) mine to try to get it to work again, so I just bought a denon. Personally, I think it sounds much better. I'll probably never buy onkyo again, not when there's other, better companies out there.
Buyer's beware!

you guys are so salty. I have an onkyo and it is great. This is the onkyo I would get if I were getting another one, just for general purpose connectivity for my tv and players and speakers. I would consider myself as a college audiophile, one without money right now. So for 400, I think this would be a great living room tool for everyday use.

Audiophile? I've owned many different brands of HT receivers over the years. Onkyo isn't a terrible brand but at least we could see an Integra level model, perhaps? What, no THX certification? Or at least one with a full array of PRE OUTS (never mind something truly useful like balanced XLR outs on it)? Is that too much to ask?
