Hyperbrain10They are totally different knives, so it depends on your needs.
This one is really a bushcraft knife. Relatively light and nimble. It's designed for bushcraft tasks, ie., carving and whittling wood into useful items for outdoor use.
Think carving tent pegs, toggles, notches into wood to loop cord around for traps, or to hang things off of, like the bale of a pot over a fire, carving spoons and other tools out of wood, etc.
The BK2/22, on the other hand is a brute of a knife. It weighs about a pound, with a 1/4" thick blade. It is anything but nimble.
The BK2/22 is more of an extra tough all-around camp knife. It's heavy enough for light chopping, sturdy enough to baton with, and it's sharp and has good steel.
It isn't light, though, and may get cumbersome over time if you're carrying it on your hip. And I would hardly call it a bushcraft knife. It's too heavy and bulky, and the blade is too thick to easily do fine bushcraft type carving.
So if you're looking to do bushcrafting, the Ontario is the better choice. For a bombproof brute of an all-around camp knife, the BK2/22 will fit the bill.
