Would it be too sacrilegious if I were to put a different strap on this?
Not a huge fan of metal straps.

wiemerimerI think it's more a metal bracelet rather than strap, but by all means, no sacrilege at all, making yourself happy is what counts as the watch owner. It's such a handsome watch it would look good on anything. Enjoy.
