Another watch with a mineral crystal. I wish massdrop wouldn't waste space and time on watches that don't have a sapphire crystal. If people want a mineral crystal they can go to walmart.

ItsrainingDon’t be a douche. It’s a beautiful and well made timepiece. And sapphire is not the end all be all. It may be scratch resistant but it is far from shatterproof. Plenty of fine watches have mineral crystals as does my 52 year old Jaeger-LeCoultre. Your sapphire snobbery adds nothing to the discussion.
[Moderated]. You can buy a cheap watch with a shitty crystal if you want but I have certain quality standards I look for in watches. Also, Nobody said anything about wanting the crystal to be shatterproof. There's a reason my high tier watches have sapphires in them and not minerals.
ItsrainingThis is 134.99 for a nicely priced timepiece, you comparing it to Wal-Mart watch is a pretty standard douche comment. For this price you're not getting domed sapphire on an automatic, there are watches for all price ranges and budgets and Orient hits well above it's weight.
*Also the only thing not worthy to discuss is your hot take which is way you're getting these replies, it was a troll comment.

ItsrainingThe lady doth protest too much, methinks. How is it that you are so well acquainted with the watch offerings and their respective crystal configuration at Walmart unless you are a frequent purveyor of their jewelry counter fare? And I can buy an inexpensive watch with a quality movement and a perfectly adequate mineral crystal and later upgrade it to an AR sapphire for $30. But that does require some skills. It is a timepiece, not a sapphire bracelet.
Some people like just shouting sapphire and 316L stainless steel and think they know the traits that makes a watch good. I'd personally pick acrylic over sapphire most days, especially sapphire with AR coating.

DisguiseAgreed, but I just realized I misspoke earlier. My Jaeger-LeCoultre does not have a mineral crystal, it is domed acrylic. I remember buffing out some minor scratches about 10 or so years back. Now that you mention it, I've always been able to buff out those acrylic crystals with ease.

ItsrainingGood for you. But all the watches in the world still doesn’t mean you aren’t a douche.
ItsrainingThis is a budget watch with a high quality built, see if you can find other similar design watches with domed sapphire crystal watch at such price point.
ItsrainingHa, ha, she's deceased. Try again. And a quick glance at this conversation tells me that you have zero endorsements to your comments, while those who stand in opposition to your comments totals twenty-four - that's probably a bit higher than you can count, but you know when your mommy buys eggs at the store? Well it's just like a package of eggs but two of them. Keep talking - you're only making it worse for yourself.
walmart search automatic, search by retailer as sold by walmart, sort . oops.

ItsrainingThe original comment is an example of gross ignorance meeting gross arrogance. Do we need to list all the great watches with mineral or acrylic crystals to demonstrate how wrongheaded your comment is?
Omega Speedmaster Pro
Seiko Presage models
Junghans Meister Telemeter
Sinn 103
I could go on but why bother? You seem to be deeply ensconced in your ignorance.
NikoToscaniJunk, shit, shit, and junk. Omega is one of the worst watches inbthe market. They don't keep good time and their resale value sucks. Ask any known, trusted watch guy on youtube. I Will put my GMT Master II or yacht master II against anything you have. And I will bet they hold their value and keep more accurate time than your weak ass list .
ItsrainingYou would put 2 of the greatest watches on the face of the planet, to much more affordable options. If you can afford those watches, why the hell are you on this thread. Rolex, AP, Constantine, and Patek don't sell on here

ItsrainingYeah we know, you've already made that abundantly clear with your miserable demeanor. And you are SO far off the mark regarding my wealth it's beyond funny, in fact it's hilarious. I'm retired, at 52. But I'm frugal and appreciate value. Keep flushing you money down the drain on your oh so precious sapphire crystals if that's what winds your clock. And keep tilting at windmills Don Quixote, everyone here is having a good laugh at your expense. You'll slay a giant eventually. But I am bowing out of this conversation as it has become tedious and tiresome. You have contributed nothing to the watch loving community except unearned arrogance and putrid vitriol.
JGoodwinWell yes they are great watches and I own both, the yacht is SS and the gmt Batman and I'm very proud of them because I worked hard to get them. And just because I have Rolex watches in my collection doesn't mean I don't like less expensive watches as well. I do well financially but I do have personal limits. There are AP's and Patek's i like but I cant justify spending 59K and up for a watch. I'm very happy with what I have. Rolex hold their value extremely well and the prices are actually up right now. They are selling for more than I paid which makes them a nice investment.
