thought i'd do a follow-up after having worn the watch for over a year now.
this is my daily beater! i have a handful of other more expensive watches, but this finds itself on my wrist more than the others. i've replaced the leather strap with a silicone band, it's extremely comfortable on my 7" wrist. though not sapphire, the mineral crystal has held up exceptionally well besides the nicks i've caused by accidentally swiping it on a rock.. the 12mm case is the perfect "slim" imo, and the case has no major defects, other than normal wear. the in-house 46B40 movement isn't swiss, but it's strong and reliable. the day/date is extremely useful to me, since i forget ALL the time.. and the look and feel is just so... simple. to me, at least.
two peeves i have are: no second hacking. unable to manually wind. no biggy though..
i've taken this watch around the world in hot/humid and cold climates, scuba diving between 50-100M, and i'm very impressed with this purchase. i was lucky to have gotten a great deal for this watch at $80, but would not hesitate to purchase this at the $120 price.

JHGould5607i put a gadgetwraps strap from amazon on it and it worked perfectly fine~ love it! super supple and pliable. ymmv, but the matte finish on the strap will wear out and become shiny, but i wear my watch 24/7.
