Orient Star Retrograde Automatic Watch

The Orient Star Retrograde looks like a venn diagram of sorts. Characterized by an array of arcs, circles, and semicircles, it beautifully combines multiple complications into a cohesive and balanced design. Each subdial is set slightly lower in the dial to offset it, with a seashell texture to further accentuate it. The Orient 40A50 movement of the retrograde mechanism was developed over a span of 2 years. After a week has passed, the day hand automatically returns to the Monday position, making it a true retrograde display. As the watch is part of Orient’s luxury line, it features premium materials—like a slightly domed sapphire crystal and stainless steel construction. The hour and minutes hands are two-toned, with one half polished and the other brushed, which ties in nicely to the matching stainless steel band.
