CHICKENGODIt's not a bad watch, but it's nothing amazing. The movement is pretty standard, but doesn't have features found on more expensive watches such as a hacking second hand and hand-winding capability. You're pretty much getting what you see. Just a minimal dress watch with a reliable Japanese movement. In terms of the price, you do save a few bucks here compared to what you can find from an authorized dealer. Right now Long Island Watch has this model for $99 with free shipping and no tax outside of NY.

plinWhen you say "reliable Japanese movement" do you mean that "Orient’s own caliber" is made in Japan, designed in Japan, or is it a copy of a Japanese movement? I'm afraid I'm not too familiar with Orient's models, so I'm not sure if they are Made in China or Made in Japan or Made in Elsewhere, or... mixed. Thanks!

The_PlantI'm not sure if the caliber is "made in Japan" but I'm pretty sure the caliber is designed by Orient in Japan. Honestly, I wouldn't worried about the movement, Orient calibers are well knowed to be good quality movements.

The_PlantThe movement was designed in Japan and at one point probably made in Japan as well, however, I doubt these watches are manufactured in Japan especially because it is so cheap. It's most likely assembled elsewhere in Asia like Malaysia or China. It's definitely not a copy, though. Orient is one of the few manufacturers that build everything in house (don't use a third party movement), but for these cheaper models, they're most likely assembled outside of Japan. Hope that helps.

plinThanks - that makes perfect sense. I didn't know that they did their own movements at all.
