This belt comes from Orion Leather Company, a group of skilled craftsmen based in Myrtle Beach. It’s made with bridle leather: a stiff, tight-grained, great-feeling leather made from heavy native steer hides and drum dyed with waxes and tallow for a rich, consistent color Read More
Just received mine in Singapore today (28.3 - 10.4.18). The leather is thick and hard, however leather near the buckle have been shaved thinner thus exposing the raw leather. Guess they had to do it in order to bend the leather. The gap between the Chicago screws is huge, thus making the raw leather very visible from the front. Could improve but nothing a sharpie can't fix :)
Multiple references are made to the dye job on this belt, but looking at the pictures, it looks like the dye on the leather around the buckle is severely lacking. Almost like it was folded before it was dyed? That alone leaves me more than a little concerned about the effectiveness of the dye on this belt.
I wish they would bring back the drops for the Orion latigo leather belts. Those have a wonderful leather quality and are definitely not afflicted by any stretching issues.
i bought 2 orion belts, They were both in the brown sunset. beautiful looking belts and the leather feels great. Has anybody had an issue with the belts stretching so much they have become unwearable due to the stretching? I bought 1 belt for me and one for my nephew both of us had the same problems and there were bought at different time so it is not a bad batch.
