It seems like Oris Aquis costs mostly over 1100$, so it looks like a good deal here. But honesly, even 900$ are too much for this watch, in my opinion. I mean, 300m water resistance is great but the rest of specs is not better as for example by Glycine Combat Sub, which is currently on Massdrop for 380$...

MrDionisComparing Glycine to Oris is same than comparing Oris to Rolex.

pokkusNot in my opinion. The very high price of Rolex is justified in some way because of perfectly regulated in-house movements, often with chronometer certificate and Rolex is also a status symbol. Oris Aquaris got basically the same movement as Combat Sub (Sellita SW 220-1 is based on ETA2824). Also Glycine brand has a noticeable history, see Airman. In which way is Oris the same way over Glycine as Rolex over Oris?

MrDionisIt is Oris Aquis, not Aquaris. Overall quality of Oris watches is just way better. Same thing with reputation. You do not see quality issues like this with Oris:

MrDionisCeramic bezel, awesome bracelet, I believe their movements are top grade, the glycine doesn't even compare.

pokkusI never owned an Oris, so I can't say my personal experience about the brand, just what I see in the specs. But I own a Glycine Combat Sub (from the previous drop) and it's a great watch. No bezel misalignment, very accurate, perfect polishing. And for such a low price. I think at the end it just the feeling you get by wearing the watch which matters.

quararFor the bracelet you have to pay 200$ more. Also, the movement is obviously not better compared to Glycine, it's still Sellita SW 220-1. Regulated are both, Aquis and Combat Sub. But ceramic bezel is truely great.

MrDionisWhile you make some valid points, it ultimately comes down to the watch you feel good wearing. I have 3 Oris watches which I absolutely love the look of. The quality is nice but I do have lower priced watches that keep better time and feel more solid. I also have watches that are worth 5X more. However, I wear my Oris watches ~40-50% of the time because they look badass. The rest is gravy.
So, if you get an awesome feeling with a Glyc Combat Sub then you should get one and wear it proudly.

pokkusNot even close. You get same quality movement in both, Oris and Glycine, which is just stock, drop in movement. Oris case is somewhat nicer compared to Glycine, that is about it. Brand prestige is about the same. Both are budget entry level mechanical watches. With recent drop in prices Glycine is priced more appropriate for what you get.
