So for about $65 more, I’d urge everyone to check out a certain grey retailers daily deal. The Artelier complication model has a more traditional moonphase, day, date and 24 hour indicator. Only 40.5mm as well.

RIP Warren Zevon!
I really like the look and function of this watch. Just wish it was 39mm. 42 is too much of a statement with the polish and indices. It's going to end up looking silly unless your wrist dwarfs it anyway.
I used to feel strongly about this or that size, but I think it comes down to the watch one really likes or wants. I'm happy with 42s and 44s on a dive watch, but a Sub is only 40 and a Speedmaster Reduced is only 38 or 39 (I forget which), and some Breitling Navitimers are 46! My point is, sometimes the watch you want is more important than the size you want.
--Sometimes.
heddI never have understood all the hating on the "large" watches. To me, 42mm is a nice sized watch, especially for a 7.5" wrist. It is right in the ballpark for me, 42mm or 44mm, both are sizes you can see well and they look good too.
To me this is a real value proposition thanks to the now well renown reputation Oris has in terms of quality and finishing. Would be far happer to spend 750 on this than 600 on a Glycine Airman.
This being said my current gap in collection is an additional diver, so I'll pass on this one, but I really like the design and the "different" complication. Only wonder how this complication is set, is there another way than simply checking on the internet at what phase/day the moon stands? If so, how did people do before the internet existed, could they set their complication for sure only once per month at full moon?

AleskbIf you know the date of the most recent past full moon, you set it to that date with full moon, and then roll your way through to the proper date. I recently got a Maurice lacroix with valjoux 7753 and had to exactly that. Full moon was Jan 19, I got the watch in early Feb. spent 20 minutes just rolling through the time change.
AleskbI would wait until they drop this watch with the moon phase it looks much better. Or pick up the Oris Artelier from jomashop at $795 which has the moon phase and other complications.
Interesting concept on representing moon phase. I kind of like it. Rarely do we see a complication that not only shows the moon phase but gives you a countdown to when the next cycle begins.
