Gotta admit, this is a very good price. The lowest price I could find for the 01 561 7693 4031-07 8 22 20 is $600 on Amazon. But there are many other sources selling it for much more. I have a large wrist, and am hesitating only because the 30mm width would look a bit odd. I wouldn't even consider the smaller version.
This really is a good price on an Oris watch.

cgalnyI was on the fence about which size to get. I have a 7" wrist. I went with the larger one just to be safe. Wish there was a leather option for the larger watch. Now to see if the local dealer will sell me just the strap.

WhaiyunI gave in and bought the same one as you. And my wrist is 7 3/4" to 8"...depending on water retention, swelling due to arthritis, etc.
In my opinion the bracelet is a better style for this watch. But if you want a strap, that should be easy to find, and depending upon your tastes, probably pretty inexpensive.

cgalnyA rectangular watch is going to wear larger than its width. Look at the lug to lug length and compare that to the round case watches you have. It's not intended to be wide. This is a dress watch, not a sports watch, that will easily fit under the cuff of a dress shirt and suit sleeve without causing a bulge. Most men don't understand the difference.

MadAnthonyWayne Yes, I understand. Were it not for the lug to lug dimension I would not have bought it. I collect watches.
I'm not crazy about rectangular watches in general, but I've owned several over the years. Eventually, however, I sold them. I'm afraid I can't resist good watch deals (under ~$600), so I figured I'd take advantage of this deal and try a rectangular watch again. It's been a long time since I've owned an Oris, which I'm aware makes good watches.
One thing about this "drop" is that if/when I sell the watch, I don't think I'll take too much of a beating.

cgalnyI agree. It's a really good price, that if I don't like it, I won't lose much. I've been jonesing for a JLC Reverso but that's a whole other league. This should do well for everyday wear at the office. I don't see any other decent rectangular watches under $1000.
