Love Oris, this one not being my cup of tea. Just wanted to mention that Oris doesn't have "its own movement" like said in the description. Thankfully it later rectifies by mentioning it's a slightly modified ETA7750 with an Oris rotor, I just find it a shame that the description is misleading trying to sell it as in house.

AleskbEveryone does this crap these days. More importantly, in house does not mean better. ETA 2824's and Unitas 6498's are about the best movements out there. The chronometer spec movements are literally some of the best movements ever made. This whole in house fad is foolish at best. I despise marketing.

SkipPpi bought an Oris CTR3 during the MD drop. I’m attaching a pic of the rotor that looks different than the MD pics or any others I’ve found online. As well, the limited edition item number on the 9 o’clock side is not present (xx/3000 as noted in all reviews I’ve found).
as you seem informed on these, can you provide any input into what I might have received from MD please? Many thanks in advance.

DakotabSince 2002 the red rotor has been a registered trade mark of Oris and an additional protection to prevent forgeries. The red colour has no functional task. Watches from earlier collections (before 2002) did not carry this trademark and had either a white or a yellow rotor.

SkipPpAs this watch is more contemporaneous, why did mine come with the yellow rotor I wonder... as well as the limited edition number?

DakotabOh, I did not realize it was a limited edition. I see the signature now. I would assume it is part of the limited edition. Does the Oris webpage for this watch have photos of the movement? The red rotor is just marketing. They did not always do this. I assume this is a limited edition thing. Your best bet would be to hit the webpage for this specific watch

Here is the MD advertisement for this Drop... Showing the proper Red Rotor. I have confirmed that the rotor should be red on all display back Oris automatics. This may be a "non-authorized" marker since it was sold by MD.
I have a trouble ticket with MD right now to try to send it back. I have purchased about 10 watches from MD and none of them had FrankenWatch syndrome other than this one... I will report if they do what is correct in thsi situation.
