What about offering a balanced 2.5mm plug, with TRRS?
Love you mass drop, ordered the ec8s.
Anybody able to comment on the microphonics vs the stock shure cable? Every time I take a step it's like an earthquake in my ears. I'm worried it's just the earphones themselves though since I've tried another (not this expensive) cable and still had pretty bad microphonics
is the mmcx cable fit for the JVC HA-FX850? they use mmcx too
hope there will be a balanced MMCX version cable
Talk about snake oil... There's no good reason to spend $100 on a cable.
Will this work for UM PRO ?

Lol i was thinking unique melody.
CoolHandLuke
Haha yeah, from what I can tell, Unique Melody only uses 2-pin cables so you're right on that front.
How much does this cable cost?
Got mine in. Won't comment much on the sound, other than it seems louder than my previous cable, but just want to say that the build quality is very good, the connector fits incredibly snug with my earphones which is very reassuring, lack of microphonic is very pleasing and the lack of a neck cinch is a bit troubling but not too much of a deal breaker.

I don't think any earbud cable will ever last you 5 to 10 years. More likely, it'll give out after 2 or 3 at most. Like you said, IEMs just tend to take more abuse.
I wish there was an option to choose the termination. I would have liked to see the 2.5 TRRS balanced termination for Astell Kern products
The cables on the SE line or pretty weak if your using them as a daily driver. I got about a year and three months out of mine. My friend got about 6-8 months out of his but he is using them for 10-12 hours a day. I'm on a FiiO RC-SE1 a $32 replacement cable I'm happy with it, but its a bit short. I would consider this if I Knew it would last me the next 5-10 years IEM's and earbuds just end up being more abused. then other types of headphones.

My SE846 cable feels like its dying, which surprised me considering how well made it looks like. It's only a couple years of usage too. I wanted to get another cable for it but I'm not sure if such price justifies a cable.
I don't believe in aftermarket cables, at all.
will this work in the se 435
So... will my Shure SE215 sound like SE846 if I use this cable? LOL :D
Since so many people asking if it's going to work with Westone, this is a BIG question for MD because the picture only shows SE846 shell which has more clearance for the connector housing due to the angle of the connector. Westone shells, both W-series and UM-/AM-series, require a rather slim connector housing to fit in. Linum works great, and I have many other aftermarket cables with slim connectors that work. From the picture, this Ortofon connector housing looks slim enough but you will not know 100% until someone from MD going to confirm with their Westone pair.

Will ciem 2pin type available?
I like the intent - aftermarket cables are ludicrously expensive. Though from the looks of it, my standard Westone cable looks better and is more ergonomic. The big cylinders next to the MMCX connectors might even be an hindrance. Unfortunately, there's no pictures of it plugged into actual IEMs.
Can you provide 0.78mm CM earphone cable?
Does these work for westone w40's?
It really should be beneath Massdrop to peddle these kinds of products with fraudulent claims of improved sound signature.
Load 1 more comment
As you cite, they claim subtle changes to the sound signature due to the cable.
As for the remainder of your comment, extraordinary claims require extraordinary proof. So please provide references to peer-reviewed scientific studies that have found _audible_ changes to sound as a function of this kind of variation in n cable construction. You could use a hanger wire for a headphone cable and it would not make a difference to the sound.
It's morally reprehensible for a reputable company like Massdrop to stoop this low.

LOL
Have a good day.
if only there were more mmcx cables with an inline remote... only ones I really found are mee audio, westone, and logitechs replacement cable. Neither mee or westone have great reviews, and logitech looks ugly as heck. Will probably end up getting the logitech...
Want me to buy an mmcx cable? add a remote
linum cables are imho the only cables worth the money for comfort alone.
