Quick update for the group! I've been in touch with the vendor and it looks like these have been prepared for shipment to our warehouse in New Jersey but the tracking number provided shows no movement just yet. I'll be monitoring this closely and will update you all on the status if anything comes up.
Thanks again for being a part of this community and expect an update from us by the end of the day Pacific Time on 3/13 .

AlucardI'd pay $10 more to support Massdrop. Ultimately, the larger the community grows, and the more volume that MD moves, the cheaper prices will be.

It's the same price on amazon so what's the point in waiting ages to get it shipped to the eu.

Can anyone talk me into this thing? I just cannot seem to find the value in it...not only in affordability but with regards to social expenses. I bought a pillow for my son once, filled with poly beads...it had a quantity of roughly 3x the number of 'beads' yet was only about 8 dollars. What makes this so special to cost 4x more? Is this an American company vs Chinese company cost difference? I just cannot come to grips with why this would be priced so high. Can anyone help me out here? Thanks in advance.
outofmemoryHaving used both this and an $8 microbead pillow I can say it mostly comes down to construction and quality. If you're just going to use it occasionally like on a plane or something, then get the cheap one cause why not? If it's something you'll find yourself using almost every day I would go for this.
I don't know which pillow you bought, but for me the material on the outside was a real thin spandex type material that got really uncomfortable after awhile. It didn't breathe great and also stretched out leaving me with a sack of beads that just moved out of the way of my neck rather than support it. The 95% rayon combo in the Ostrich feels a lot closer to cotton and doesn't irritate my skin as much. Plus the stitching and everything just feels like it won't fall apart if I throw it in my bag.
Just my $0.02 :)
Cheers

AlexPkHey Alex, thanks for the reply (it's appreciated). Admittedly the cheapy pillow I referenced was a pile of crud. And yes, it had all of the issues (features) you mentioned - it went to my 6 year old (at the time) son...he didn't know any better about quality (heh). Your 2 cents was priceless - thanks again.
