SabarnaDefinitely sounds better than KC09 by a margin (Sony ZX300 DAP). I have never listened to KC06A though.

egglizhenHow is it better? I have the KC09 and like them. I love short runs of loud music, but am treble sensitive sometimes and these don't cause me trouble, even listening to longer podcasts. Though the bass can get crowded, I don't notice unless I switch to another hp right away.

JoeBiTo me it is all around improvement. Maybe except the bass. 07 got a tab too loosed on the bass. But the BA unit definitely adds more clarity and separation to the sound, allowing you to get more details of the music. I am not quite sure how much treble sensitivity you are talking about here. To my ear, 09's treble is actually quite crispy and less smooth, which is not supposed to be super friendly to listeners with treble sensitivity. If 09 don't give you trouble, I don't believe 07 will. I am using Sony ZX300 by the way. Different DAC/AMP yield different sound signature.

egglizhenHmm that doesn't bode well- to me the KC09's bass was already kinda rounded in nature. If that of the KC07 is even looser...

phoenixsongWell, to me they are equally loosed. Neither one of them satisfies me at bass department, lol. But yea, if you valued the bass more, forget abt KC07. Probably will be better off with RHA t10i.

egglizhenI actually did notice today that the 09 treble was a bit grainy listening to Steely Dan "Any Major Dude" on a resurrected iPod mini. The E3000 is less warm but the highs are smoother, which I prefer, but still not great on this track. The GR07 classic treble was great, but the whole thing was too bright. Perhaps I should try that RHA.

egglizhenI love the kc09 sound but how do the the soundstage and vocals compare to the kc07s? I would prefer a more forward and clear vocal presentation with the same great soundstage and dynamics the kc09 produces

NabildinhoI give KC09 a 5 out of 10 on soundstage. KC07 probably scores a 6 out of 10. Same with the vocal.

egglizhenSo does it generally keep the same sound as the kc09 apart from a bit more detail and clarity? I was hoping for a good upgrade.

NabildinhoFor me KC07 is like 10% better than 09 in every aspect (high, mid, bass, sound stage, separation, clarity) except the bass. 10% ain't a whole lot, but to me they add up. It gives me a better overall listening experience. But is it mind-blowing? Hell no. After all it's a sub-$200 IEM.

SabarnaWell, I gave KC09 a 5 out of 10, and KC07 a 6... I never had b400 or UE900. I had UE900S though. U might not agree with me, but I think KC07 blow the UE900S out of the water. Even KC09 is better than UE900s by a margin. I am totally not a fan for UE. I have once tried out their $1500 flagship UE 18+Pro. And u know what, I rather pick the $200 KC07. Other people seem to like them though. So what can I say.....

SabarnaWhat kind (pop, rock, classical, etc.) of music you like? Do you listen with your phone or do you use any DAP or DAC/AMP? And price wise, I assume you mean 150 usd but not 1500 usd?

NabildinhoSoundstage generally are somewhat limited in IEMs. And at this price range you don't get huge, ear-blowing improvements. All I can say is if you liked KC09, KC07 won't disappoint, especially when use with proper DAP or AMP. If possible, maybe consider Campfire Audio Dorado in the future. That's an absolute beast in vocal.

egglizhenThanks for your help, I may get the kc07 then. Regarding soundstage I have tried a few really highly recommended iems and they have dissapointed due to small soundstage. I generally notice the difference because I watch a lot of movies. I have been following the dm6 hype train aswell but am not sure if that iem is worth it though.

egglizhenThanks for your suggestions. I am a movie watcher and would like both male and female vocals sounding good especially male vocals. If you were to pick one for the clearest, detailed, full and energetic vocals which one would be your pick?
egglizhen

NabildinhoThen go with either ER3XR or KC07. Moondrop KPE is more for female vocals.

egglizhenThanks alot and lastly I really want to go for the ostrys now but there's just a few iems in the way for me to decide. Have you ever tried the dm6, b400, tenhz p4 pro or any recently hyped iems? If soo do you still think the ostrys are the best choice for me? Appreciate your help.

Nabildinhoit01 sucks bro. Ibasso's earphones have been nothing but disappointment so far. Both it01 and it03 suck ass. They are even losing out market share back in China. I hope they do a better job on it04, but given my experience with the previous two, I probably won't even try it. lol

SabarnaI too have KC06A's - love them. Wish they had a little more low end, they clarity "for a noob like me" is great.

do not get the Ibasso IT01s mixed up with the IT01. The 01s is different tuning than the original and sounds great. Please read all the reviews you can on IT01s.
