What would be a good portable Dac/Amp to use with my HD6xx and Sony Xperia 1 V cell phone?
I am new to this hobby. I purchased a HD6XX and plan to use it with my Sony Xperia 1 V cell phone, that has a 3.5mm jack. I was wondering if I needed a portable dac/amp or just a portable amp and if so what would one recommend? Any assistance one could provide, would be greatly appreciated. Kind regards, Haz

Hate the twisted cable design of the TFZ's. Was never a fan of Shure's, but sound and comfort is pretty subjective.
Although, I doubt I'll ever buy plastic-housing headphones again.
How is the SQ compared to either the SE215 or Ex5?
The KC06A's are potentially the best IEM's I've owned, which previously I would of said my favorites were the headphones included with the Sony NWZ-S738F mp3 player (2008) and I can't compare the two now.

With a Fiio E17K paired with the KC06A's, I sometimes scale the treble back a few steps. But back in the day I would use a Sandisk Sansa E280 with an inverted equalizer (e.g. like a batman joker-smile), with the bass close to 0/+1, with most other frequencies below 0, and the tail near 0/+1.
I would use a similar EQ inverted-smile setup on a Xiaomi Redmi 3s Pro Prime phone within the last few years, but my current music device's sound-chip (Motorola X-Force) doesn't support that.
I always preferred Sony's Mega-Bass (tm).
I prefer music like Tom Cochrane, John Newman, Apocolyptica, Calvin Harris, Kongos, Lorde, M83, Ella Eyre, Megadeath (*glances through Google Play Music downloaded artists*)
I'm not going to comment on Mid/Lows/Highs/Bass/whatever, when I hear ppl talking about that, it sounds like pretentious bullshit to me -- sorry :-)
Additional Caveat, am not interested in paying hundred's for IEM's for marginal acoustic improvements, and find most Over-the-Ear studio headphones more fatiguing than IEM's - hurts my outer ear, and pressure on my skull after not many hours.
Lately I've switched to surrounding myself with speakers of mid-level cost, like these, (when I can) --> Pioneer TS-X200 Surface Mount 3-Way Bass-Reflex Speakers <-- https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00009QOQB/ Which I plan to power with: https://www.massdrop.com/buy/smsl-ad18-bluetooth-stereo-and-usb-power-amplifier
Followup: -- was able to setup my backyard-office speaker system on Dec.20th, Sounds F'n Great :-) Now to hook up a sub-woofer. Addenum: Well I'm sure the audiophiles would shoot me... but I'm using a discontinued 20W Comiso tube speaker as a sub-woofer hehehe. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01LZ772DZ/
