Germany’s Black Forest is known not only for its enchanting landscapes but also for its rich history of silver and gold mining. So it comes as no surprise that Otto Hutt chose Pforzheim, just outside the Black Forest, to establish himself as a purveyor of fine silver writing instruments. That was in 1920, when Germany’s Bauhaus movement was a dominating force in design. Sharply dressed in subtle pinstripes, the Design 2 fountain pen is made of 925 sterling silver with platinum-plated steel accents. The Otto Hutt logo is engraved on the nib and around the base of the cap, and you’ll also find a six-digit serial number unique to your pen—a mark of true craftsmanship and authenticity.
