I want to add the problem I was encountering with the Mac trial in Yosemite was that it was installing the program (app) OK, until the very end I got an error message. So the Mac app part would open, but apparently the error was showing that the external sound card driver could not install. So the app would open, but no external OOYH soundcard to use in either the program or what would show up in the AudioMidi section.
beatstreetHi beatstreet,
Thanks for your posts.
Quickly, regarding Yosemite support: Not sure if you followed the instructions here, but if not, please try these steps: http://fongaudio.com/installing-out-of-your-head-on-mac-os-x-yosemite/
It's possible you may have to enable "root" user on your system in order to use the "su" command.
But until you are able to install the Out Of Your Head driver (kext), then Out Of Your Head will not work. Again, it's unfortunate about Yosemite and having to jump through all these hoops, but hopefully this is a temporary situation and I will get approval from Apple soon and fix these installation problems with Yosemite.

Darin_Fong_AudioHi Darin,
Thanks for your message. I entered su into terminal, had to root, kept getting password administrator password when entered correctly = Sorry. [Would not let me continue with su process]. Then I tried this even though not Mac? http://askubuntu.com/questions/168101/why-cant-i-access-super-user-mode-with-su sudo -i cause root is closed by default. use sudo passwd root to activate root
Then created new password then it said I was in root. Then tried pasting your sudo nvram boot-args=”kext-dev-mode=1″ command, hit enter. Then quit terminal, but got warning I was exiting sudo command or something. Then hit restart. Used uninstall, then reinstall. Then same error. "The Installation Failed. Installer encountered error cause installation to fail. Contact software manufacturer to assist." (Same message from the first time.) I'm not sure what's going on, but I'm NOT a Terminal wiz.

Darin_Fong_AudioI'm going to wait a few weeks/months or so until a proper installer revision for Yosemite is released. Unless, you know exactly what's the cause.
beatstreetHi beatstreet, Please try the following things to reset or enable the admin or root password:
If you forgot your admin password, you can follow these instructions: http://coolestguidesontheplanet.com/reset-forgotten-admin-password-mac-osx/
Or you may have to enable root user:
Note: in Yosemite retail open the Applications folder in the CoreServices folder and then open Directory Utility
On Yosemite, there is no way to reinstall Out Of Your Head without enabling the "kext-dev-mode". Sorry about that, but I am waiting on Apple to resolve this issue. It's out of my control at this point, unfortunately.

Darin_Fong_AudioHi Darin, I will try this shortly when I am free to give it a go and sufficiently read up on terminal root user.
With my purchased OOYH... I read your FAQ: "Will my licenses work on multiple computers?
Yes, and no… When you purchase the Out Of Your Head software license, you only need to purchase that once. You can then login to our online store and purchase individual preset licenses. However, the preset licenses will only work on one specific computer. Those licenses are “matched” to work with one computer. They will not work on any other computer. So for multiple computers, you will need to purchase a separate preset license. But you do not have to purchase a separate Out Of Your Head license for each computer."
So based on this information, can you please confirm that my purchased license will work on both Windows and (future installed fix) Mac versions? I do understand that I will only have one free preset tied to the computer I first register it, likely Windows. I know I will then have to purchase additional preset even if it's the same one again for the secondary Mac side I have. Is this correct? One additional preset bought even if it's the same one for the second "computer" side of my dual boot? I'm ok with that if it is, although not ideal. I just don't want to have to repurchase 2 full licenses since you'll be making significant $$ in all my doubled or more preset purchases (earning income which is fair). I don't exclusively use one side or the other for media and work use. I require ideally this up an running on both side. I actually have 4 "computers" since I have 2 dual boot macs in different locations. Thanks!
beatstreetHi beatstreet,
I can confirm that your Out Of Your Head license will work on all your computers since the Out Of Your Head license is tied to your e-mail address, not your computers. So you will only have to buy the Out Of Your Head license once.
It's the speaker preset licenses that are tied to your computer/platform combination. So, if you have two computers the each dual boot Windows and Mac OS X, then here is a breakdown of the licenses you will need: 1) One Out Of Your Head license 2) Computer A booting Windows: You can use your free preset license that comes with the Out Of Your Head license purchase. 3) Computer A booting OS X: You will need to purchase an additional speaker preset license 4) Computer B booting Windows: You will need to purchase an additional speaker preset license 5) Computer B booting OS X: You will need to purchase an additional speaker preset license
So that's a total of one Out Of Your Head license and 4 preset licenses (one of which is included with the Out Of Your Head license.) So assuming you get this Massdrop deal, that would be $74.99 + $75 = $149.99 to be able to use all four computers/operating systems.
That's not a bad deal considering the regular price for one computer license is $149.99.
I hope that makes sense.

Darin_Fong_AudioHi Darin, I sure appreciate your help and detailed response. That pricing structure is fair and understandable,, I will likely only use this on my main Windows side of my dual boot computer I use for media computer until I get a successful install on Mac Yosemite install. I understand that presets are attached to unique computer logins.
My license is good for the entirety, so I'll buy more presets that I like in the future as I expand the use of this program across my OSs (as the software development itself improves). As long as I get it working on my main media/music player for now, I'm not big rush. I'll expand as my funds allow.
I really do appreciate the program license without presets is tied to my email address, that is a good move.
