You know, jackets (in this case "windbreakers") have been around for a long, long time, but every Fall, half a hundred manufacturers seek to convince you they have reinvented the wheel, and that their iteration of this undeniably common garment, is suddenly worth a hundred-bucks. Evidently enough of your are (fill in the blank) enough to buy another one, anyway. Assuming you didn't just move here from Death Valley, CA--there's a good chance you already have one (a jacket) that's been doing the job, and there's probably no reason to give these guys another c-note or so, just because they want you to. So, before you click that I'll-buy-anything button, do check your closet first.
RayFyou make very valid points. Valid points for the average citizen who shops on a budget.
but this is massdrop, a website full of goods you do not need but want.
we ain't shopping @ target or walmart, we are shopping @ massdrop.
I thru-hiked with this jacket. I didn't need it until the last 500 miles so I didn't notice that it was not, in fact, a rain jacket until it was too late. If you're outside in the rain for more than a few hours in this thing, you will get wet through the side panels. Not only that, but the zipper broke after my first 3 weeks of heavy use (I almost never used it before that) . I cannot recommend this jacket.
Generally a huge winner for dumping heat without dealing with pit zips as well as keeping you dry, but keep in mind there is NOT Pertex behind the "Outdoor Research’s Movement-Mirroring stretch panels" so depending on your activity you can definitely get wet through there.
