Years ago, the Sun Runner Cap set the standard for versatility in the sun hat category. Today, it remains one of Outdoor Research’s best sellers, offering full coverage and sun protection Read More
These are so dorky looking... but then I realized that they sort of look like rebel alliance caps and I'm thinking they look just dorky enough rather than too dorky.
I bought this hat (XL, Khaki) a while ago and I definitely am a fan! I have a large head- 7-3/4" or 7-7/8", depending on the brand- and have had trouble finding hats that will fit and protect me from the sun. This hat does both. If your head is similarly large, the hat is slightly "shallow" (i.e. doesn't come down to the ears or thereabouts) but it feels comfortable. The depth at which it sits is also less of an issue with the sun shield on.
I've work this hiking/camping, playing disc golf, and doing yard work. It's held up to the Texas sun so far.
Hope that helps. Enjoy your new hat!
I have this hat and I think it is great for hiking or any outdoor adventure. But personally not totally sold on the appearance for city use though, but that's a subjective issue
I have a 22 inch - 22.25 inch head circumference and ordered the small. Not sure if this is the correct size. Can you list the head measurement sizes. Thank you.
Definitely one of the best sun hats on the market. The removable neck cover is a really nice touch, especially because it's so noisy when the wind is blowing. I bought mine with my REI dividend and use it on hikes in SoCal all the time. Tip: before using the hat, make a little knot at the bottom of the drawstring so you can pull it tight without having to use your teeth or dig for the string, as it gets recessed into the rubber part without being easily accessible.
