Outdoor Research Tantrum II Men's Hooded Jacket

This is a good windshirt, a little bit bulkier than the Patagonia Houdini when packed, but not in a detrimental way. Very breathable, the DWR isn't as great as some other windshirts, so if your primary interest is weather protection it's maybe not the best choice. It does dry quickly. I like it for higher output exercises, running or hiking, where I might get a misting from being in the clouds, but not expecting rainfall. Also nice for sun protection. As with most OR products (except the original Ferrosi Hoody) it's an athletic fit, so size up if you want to layer under it, though it's really intended to be over a base layer. The thumb loops are sewn in on the inside, in a way which will flip part of the cuff out while using them. The cuffs can be a little loose without using the thumb loops to hold them in place. I like the way the hood fits, it isn't adjustable, has a couple pieces of elastic on either side. It has a built in brim which works well, just tried it over a small ball cap and it fit without a problem. The blue isn't offensive, but it might not be everyone's thing. If you've got money to burn, check out the Arc'teryx Incendo, with a few more features, or the old standard of windshirts, the Patagonia Houdini.
